(Minghui.org) I had a dream on February 1, 2016. There were two ancient looking, clean and folded blue shirts on the floor, which looked like the ones worn by the dead. This scared me. I was puzzled and felt that something was about to happen.
The next day, my wife, a former Falun Dafa practitioner, went to the hospital for a check-up. She was diagnosed with cancer of the bladder. I was shocked, as she had been very healthy.
After some discussions, we decided that she would have surgery at the Xiehe Hospital on February 3. There were only minor problems after the surgery, and she was allowed to return home on February 6.
My wife had to take medication at home and needed to use the toilet about every five minutes. However, it was painful for her to urinate. We called the doctor who recommended that she go to the hospital. She couldn't walk unaided, and the pain worsened.
My wife was feeling very depressed, so I asked her to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good.”
I told my wife that only Teacher Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, could help her. My son, who is not a practitioner but respects Dafa, told her the same thing. My daughter-in-law and daughter also gave her the same advice.
Finally, my wife said, “If I practice Dafa I will be serious about it.” She got off her bed, put her hands together in front of her chest, and said to Teacher, “I want to practice cultivation.”
Once she started the exercises, her trips to the toilet became less frequent. My wife was so excited and went upstairs to tell the children. She spent a long time talking to them. The children were overjoyed, and all thanked Teacher. Then, our daughter said, “Mom, you haven't been to the toilet for an hour!”
Other practitioners heard about my wife's improvements and came to see her. Some brought her the whole set of Dafa books, others sent righteous thoughts and shared their understandings of the Fa with her.
My wife's elder sister came to take care of her. After seeing My wife's remarkable recovery from practicing Falun Dafa, she also started practicing.
I now understand why I saw two ancient blue shirts in my dream – the old forces wanted my wife to wear one of them after they took away her life. But Teacher beat them at their own game and brought her back to the path of cultivation.
I had no intention of asking her to start practicing again, but everyone in the family gave her that advice. It took her a lot of courage to arrive at this decision, especially as Falun Dafa practitioners are being persecuted in China. I understood that this was arranged by Teacher!
The remaining blue shirt was another arrangement by the old forces - meant for me.
Although I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, I still have many attachments. Ever since my wife returned to the cultivation path I felt pain in my left arm, which slowly became numb.
When I looked inward I realized that I had the mentality of fighting, seeking comfort, drinking alcohol and smoking, lacking true compassion, and not working well with others when doing Dafa work.
Having realized this I intensified my righteous thoughts. I wanted to eliminate all of the dark minions and dissolve all the arrangements made by the old forces.
I thought to myself, “I am a Dafa practitioner. I follow only my Teacher, and deny all arrangements made by others. I want to continue doing the three things, as required by Teacher. I deny the possibility of having signed any agreement with the old forces. If they keep persecuting me, it means that they do not want to be in the new universe, which will lead to their demise.”
One day, when I was in the small Fa study group, the Fa teachings regarding how to harmonize oneself with others while doing Dafa work suddenly came into my mind. I vividly recalled every single word of the teachings at that moment. Through my third eye, I saw countless stars everywhere, and they gradually dispersed in the clear sky. The inside of my body was immense and clear. I was very thankful to Teacher, as tears continually rolled down my cheeks. Teacher has already born so much for me! Thank you Teacher for helping me overcome this tribulation!
The Fa teaching on “beating evils at their own game” was truly amazing. The old forces initially attempted to persecute my wife, and Teacher led her back to cultivation. They then attempted to persecute me by making me feel like I had a “stroke,” but Teacher beat them at their own game, enabled me to see clearly and eliminate my attachments, and helped me elevate on my cultivation path.
Teacher said,
“When disciples have ample righteous thoughtsMaster has the power to turn back the tide” (“The Master-Disciple Bond” from Hong Yin Vol. II)
I need to cultivate diligently and not let Teacher worry about me.
