Daughter on Hunger Strike for a Month, Father Sues Police

November 13, 2017 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Du Hexian from Xiong County in Hebei Province was arrested for practicing Falun Gong. She was detained in the Baoding Detention Center where she has been on a hunger strike for over a month.

Her lawyer found that, at first, she had been force-fed once every few days. It was later increased to daily forced-feedings. Ms. Du has suffered a great deal and is very weak. The family is extremely concerned and have attempted to have her released. But the Domestic Security officers continuously avoided meeting with them.

Ms. Du's father then filed a lawsuit at the Xiong County Political and Justice Office, and the Xiong County Procuratorate against the captain and deputy captain of the Domestic Security Division. He accused them of abusing the criminal law of the country and trampling on citizens' human rights.

Below is an excerpt from the lawsuit:

Domestic Security Captain Guo Junxue and Deputy Captain Zhang Baozhong led a dozen agents and broke into the residence that my daughter Du Hexian rented on September 26, 2017. They arrested her, together with my youngest daughter Du Aixian who was visiting her at the time. The two sisters were interrogated and detained at the Zangang Town Police Station.

My youngest daughter was released the next afternoon. But Du Hexian was taken to the Baoding Detention Center in Qiyuan District in Baoding City. She has been held there for a month now.

She went on a hunger strike to protest the unfair treatment and was brutally force-fed by the police. Her lawyer found that she was very weak and needed two people to support her in order to walk.

Guo Junxue and Zhang Baozhong arbitrarily deemed my daughter guilty of "organizing and utilizing a cult organization to obstruct justice" [a common fabrication used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners]. Actually, they themselves are abusing the country's criminal laws and are violating citizens' human rights.
