(Minghui.org) It has been confirmed that Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yuhong has been sentenced to five years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan by Linghai Court in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province.
When fellow practitioner Ms. Dai Yunqin went to visit Ms. Wang Yuhong on the morning of April 14, 2017, she was followed by police from the 610 Office branch and the Domestic Security Division of Linghai Police Department and several neighborhood committee members.
When Ms. Wang opened the door for her friend, the police broke in and started searching and ransacking her home without a warrant. They took her computer, mobile phone, all her Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. The whole place was turned upside down.
Ms. Wang was taken to the Jinzhou Detention Center around 5:00 p.m. that day and officially arrested. The police forwarded her case to the local procuratorate on April 25, 2017, but the procuratorate returned the case on June 30.
When Ms. Wang’s mother, mother-in-law, and older sister went to the police department to demand her release, they were turned away by the officer on duty, who claimed that nobody in charge of her case was around. They were told to come back the following Monday.
When they went back to the police department on Monday, they were met by a male and a female instead of the case officers they wanted to see. The couple was very rude to them, saying they came too late and that they would only talk with a lawyer.
For the next few days, Ms. Wang’s relatives went to the police department every day, trying to contact case officers Zhang Yandong and Zhang Yue, but they were stopped at the gate every time.
Finally, on July 6, the police allowed Ms. Wang’s older sister in, but she was told that her sister’s case file had been returned to the Procuratorate.
In early August, the Procuratorate in Linghai City handed the fabricated case to the court.
At 9:30 a.m. on September 11, 2017, Ms. Wang Yuhong was tried by Linghai Court in Jinzhou.
She stated that she had committed no crime by conducting herself according to Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Her lawyer also stated that there is no law in China against practicing Falun Gong and pleaded not guilty on her behalf. No judgement was handed down that day.
However, it was learned recently that Ms. Wang Yuhong had been sentenced to five years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan.
