Liaoning Woman Beaten for Refusing to Renounce Falun Gong

October 13, 2017 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) A married couple was home on September 29, 2017, when a group of agents broke in and handcuffed them.

Ms. Yang Yuhui and her husband, Mr. Dai Xuzheng, were targeted because they refuse to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Li Lei, head of the local Jinzhou City Domestic Security Office, led the arrest of the couple. He and his officers confiscated 4,000 yuan in cash and other personal belongings from the couple’s home. They forced Mr. Dai to sign a blank inventory of confiscated items.

Ms. Yang was interrogated for more than four hours at the local police station. Around 3:40 a.m. that night, police drove her to Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center. A required medical examination showed that her blood pressure was 180, but the police still forced the detention center to admit her.

According to insiders, Ms. Yang was brutally beaten by her cellmates the following night, but the detention center guards did nothing to stop the assault. On October 8, four inmates–Guo Hong, Jin Hong, Du Wei, and Dong Na–tied Ms. Yang up and gave her another round of beatings. They threatened to beat her again if she still refused to write statements to give up her belief.

Ms. Yang’s case now rests with the local procuratorate. It is unclear whether her husband was arrested on the same night.
