(Minghui.org) Four middle school teachers are set to face trial on October 11, 2017 for their efforts to expose the Chinese communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Mr. Wang Fengchen, his wife Ms. Leng Xiuxia, Mr. Ai Jiaojie, and Mr. Li Liansheng all work for Lindian County First Middle School. They were arrested and had their homes ransacked on January 18, 2017. Mr. Wang’s car was impounded.

Mr. Wang, Mr. Ai, and Mr. Li were all tortured during police interrogation. One officer placed a pencil between two of Mr. Li’s fingers before crushing them together. The three men were first kept at Lindian County Detention Center, but were later moved to Daqing City Detention Center, where Ms. Leng has been held.

The four practitioners’ lawyers were only allowed half an hour to meet with their clients. The detention center guards kept interrupting the lawyers as the latter were inquiring about their clients’ arrest and incarceration.

The only daughter of Mr. Wang and Ms. Leng works out of town. Mr. Li’s and Mr. Ai’s children are still in college. Mr. Li’s wife, Ms. Wang Kun, works at the same school, but was demoted after his arrest. Mr. Ai’s wife had to close their family-owned piano store. These family members are calling for the public to pay attention to the practitioners’ plight.
