(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 were illegally arrested.

1. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Shi Fengxia and Ms. Tan Jinmei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Shi Fengxia from Linjiang City was followed when she mailed letters containing information about Falun Gong. She was arrested on August 16, 2016 and was held in the Baishan Detention Center for 15 days. She has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Ms. Tan Jinmei was arrested on the morning of August 17, 2016. She was held in the Baishan Detention Center for 15 days. She was sentenced to one year in prison with two years of probation.

2. [Xuyong County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Manqun Taken to Prison

Mr. Wang Manqun was arrested by officers from the Xuyong County Domestic Security Division on September 16, 2014. He was held in the Naxi Detention Center, Luzhou City. He was given a three-and-a-half-year prison term in July 2015. He is currently being held in the Longquan Women's Prison, Chengdu City.

3. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Yongquan Arrested

Mr. Li Yongquan from Wuqing District was arrested at home on the morning of January 14, 2017. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, materials, a computer, and a cell phone. Mr. Li was released and returned home that evening. No one has heard from him since then.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Chai Xiuqun Detained

Ms. Chai Xiuqun from the Hedong District was arrested at home on the evening of January 14, 2017. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and other items. She is held in the Hedong Detention Center.

5. [Guyuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Yan Lanjiang Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Ms. Yan Lanjiang from Xiji County was secretly sentenced to three years in prison for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Yulei Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Mr. Liu Yulei was sentenced to three years in prison by the Gaoxin District Court on November 29, 2016. He has appealed to the Weifang City Intermediate Court.

7. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Diao Chunfeng and Ms. Wen Yu Detained

Ms. Diao Chunfeng and Ms. Wen Yu were arrested by officers from the Shiliang Police Station on January 16, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Shiliang farmers market. Their homes were ransacked. They were detained for 10 days.

8. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Guo Yuying and Ms. Luo Shuxin from Jingzhai Village, Wangqiao Township, Guantao County, were arrested by Li Junshan, director of the Wangqiao Township Police Station, and other officers on January 12, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong booklets. Ms. Shi Wenhong from Guantao County was arrested by officers from the Guantao County Police Department. The three practitioners are held in the Handan City Detention Center.

9. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Lihui Taken into Custody

Ms. Zhao Lihui was reported and arrested on January 16, 2017 for posting Falun Gong informational materials. She is held in the Gaowan Police Station.

10. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Yuwu Arrested

Mr. Zhang Yuwu was arrested by Jinzhou City police officers on January 16, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and materials from his home. Mr. Zhang was released after being held overnight.

11. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Tang Zheng Arrested

Mr. Tang Zheng from Mian County was reported on January 8, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested and taken to the Chengdong Police Station by officers from the 110 Emergency Response Unit. He was interrogated until 9 p.m. The police ordered members of the Public Security Section in his work unit to bring him home.

12. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Xiaofei in a Coma

Ms. Li Xiaofei, 60, was sentenced to 11 years in prison. She was held in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison. After being persecuted over three years in prison she was found to have late stage liver cirrhosis. She began vomiting blood. Ms. Li is currently in a coma and in critical condition. She is on medical parole, and in the Harbin City No.2 Hospital.
