Police Return Confiscated Belongings and Drop All Charges

January 24, 2017 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in Beijing, China

(Minghui.org) My daughter and I went to the Fengtai District Police Department in November 2016 to request the return of my personal belongings that were confiscated during an illegal arrest and house search on May 12, 2016.

With the help of fellow practitioners sending righteous thoughts, the police returned everything. More importantly, they issued a decision in writing not to file any criminal charges against me for distributing Falun Gong materials.

I was arrested in the Yanqiao area of Beijing for handing out Falun Gong materials on May 12, 2016. The next day I was taken to Fengtai District Detention Center while the police ransacked my home and confiscated my computer, printer, tablet, mobile phone, USB drives, and Falun Gong books and materials.

I talked to the police officers and guards at the detention center about Falun Gong and told them that practitioners followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They said, “We know you are good people, but we have no choice. If we don't carry out our orders, we will be detained. We are just robots obeying our commands.” Hearing that made me pity them from the bottom of my heart.

I was detained for over 20 days and then released on bail awaiting trial. On the official bail document I was told to sign, I saw the charge “utilizing a cult to sabotage law enforcement.” I refused to sign it. To my surprise, the guard, with several other people present, said to me: “Well done! You’ve got guts.” Then I was released.

Later I asked that my personal belongings be returned and spoke to several government officials about Falun Gong. I also wrote personal letters clarifying the truth to the leaders of all the departments in the Fengtai District Police Department. I also sent them an open letter from their peers in the law enforcement profession, which was previously published on the Internet.

After multiple attempts and with fellow practitioners' righteous thoughts, the police decided to return all my belongings and to not file criminal charges against me when I went there again in November 2016.

Law enforcement officials are also victims of the persecution. Because they participate in the persecution, they face serious consequences in the future.

Master has asked us to save more people by clarifying the truth and telling them to stop the persecution. I feel a profound sense of happiness for the Fengtai District police for having chosen a bright future for themselves.
