(Minghui.org) I always keep in my mind that a Falun Gong practitioner must turn peril into safety when experiencing tribulations and adversity. As long as practitioners maintain righteous thoughts and actions, it will be just as Master said: “After passing the shady willow trees, there will be bright flowers and another village ahead!” (Zhuan Falun)
During the 2015 Tomb Sweeping holiday, I was planning a trip back to my hometown to hold a memorial ceremony for my deceased parents.
I took along Falun Gong truth-clarification materials for my younger brother, younger sister, nephew and niece.
When my ticket and ID card were checked at the railway station, I was told that I was blacklisted because I practiced Falun Gong. I was arrested and my truth-clarification materials, paper currency bank notes with Falun Gong information written on them, as well as my MP4 player were confiscated.
The police officers from the Railway Police Station went to my home and ransacked it. They confiscated my Falun Gong books, amulets, and photos of Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong cultivation practice.
I was detained at the Railway Police Station for one day and one night. The police took turns interrogating me. I protested the unlawful interrogation by remaining silent. But I did tell them, “I am not guilty. It's you who are committing crimes. We practitioners just strive to be good people.”
They ordered me to sign a transcript of the interrogation, although I had not said anything. I refused and said, “What's written in this document is untrue, so I will not sign it. I didn't violate the law. You are persecuting a good person.”
In the end, the officers released me, took me home and ordered local officials to place me under residential surveillance. They transferred my case to a local police station.
None of the police officers from the local police station came to my home, but Jiang, an officer from the Railway Police Station harassed me on and off. He contacted my workplace first, then went to my home to interrogate me, accompanied by one of my supervisors. They also spread rumors among the leaders and employees at my workplace. As a result, many of them dared not get in touch with me and were reluctant to listen to my explanations about Falun Gong.
Finally, when a deputy director at my work asked about the paper currency, I told him, “We are persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) which controls the Chinese media and deceives the Chinese people. We have no voice. This is one of the limited ways we can tell people the facts.”
This was an excellent opportunity to talk about the staged Self-Immolation Hoax on Tian'anmen Square; the natural stone in Guizhou Province engraved with the six Chinese characters “The Chinese Communist Party will Die;” that Falun Gong has spread to over 100 countries, and much more.
I spoke of Article 35 of the Chinese Constitution which guarantees “freedom of speech, freedom of the press,” and told the police that I was just practicing my legal rights.
“It's you who are violating the law,” I said.
All of the police officers understood, with the exception of officer Jiang. He did admit that he had read the confiscated materials. So I asked him, “Then why do you still persecute Falun Gong practitioners?” He couldn't answer me.
Two officials from the Public Prosecution Section of the Nanjing Railway Transportation Procuratorate came to my home on December 20, 2015. These women told me that police officers from the Nanning Railway Police Station had submitted my case to the procuratorate. They produced a notice about my release from custody and another about entrusting defenders to apply for legal assistance on my behalf. I refused to sign it.
Officials from the procuratorate came frequently to my home to interrogate me. I refused to answer any questions and instead I told them the facts about Falun Gong and asked them to stop persecuting practitioners.
I made sure that they understood that when the police arrest a practitioner, they are committing crimes against Falun Gong. I also told them that if an officer did not stop participating in the persecution, he or she would be prosecuted when the CCP falls from power.
With the help of local practitioners, my story was published on the Minghui website. Fellow practitioners from all over the world made calls to the procuratorate, told them the facts about Falun Gong and asked them to stop the persecution.
Our local practitioners also mailed materials to the procuratorate and sent forth righteous thoughts more often to eliminate any interference.
Policeman Jiang told me, “Your fellow practitioners must stop making calls to the procuratorate.”
My lawyer said, “Officials from the procuratorate are afraid of receiving phone calls from overseas practitioners.”
About six officials from the Railway Transportation Procuratorate came to my home to interrogate me on February 3, 2016. I asked them to show their IDs and they did.
They brought along a stack of truth-clarification materials and claimed that it was the “evidence.”
“Even though I carried with me many materials,” I said, “I was not violating the law. I was just practicing my legal rights, which is protected under the constitution. In fact, those materials are only the evidence of your evil doings. They tell all about how Jiang Zemin's regime persecuted Falun Gong practitioners.”
I showed a copy of the constitution to official Yao, the director of the prosecution section. She didn't say anything. At that point I felt very dizzy and my husband found that I had a high blood pressure. The officials became worried and left.
Two female officials came again in the afternoon. My daughter-in-law said, “You come every couple of days and disturb us. Which law did this 60-year-old woman violate? We still have an elderly grandma in bed who needs her care. I will no longer be polite to you if you come again!”
Local practitioners kept sending updates about my situation to the Minghui website. Fellow practitioners kept making calls to the procuratorate and police stations. Meanwhile, truth-clarification materials were mailed to them. These combined actions greatly deterred the local officials from pushing forward with the prosecution.
Practitioners in my area increased the time of sending forth righteous thoughts. I myself also added four additional times for sending righteous thoughts.
Yao, the director of the prosecution section, notified me on June 15, 2016 that I needed come to the procuratorate the following day. They claimed that they would tell me the status of my case. My husband and I went to the procuratorate and we were told that I would not be indicted.
The final decision stated, “After investigations and additional inspections, the procuratorate believes that the crime claimed by the Nanning Railway Police Station was insufficient and relevant evidence is missing. This case is not accepted as presented and thus it is recommended that the case be dismissed.”
The above letter shows that officials from the procuratorate knew the facts about Falun Gong and changed their notions. They returned the case twice to the police station and postponed the time of indictment. Finally, they refused to process the case.
Throughout the time that my case was pending, I looked inside. I found many attachments, including the mentality of showing off, not being able to accept criticism, validating myself, jealousy, complaints, and hatred. I will continue to look within, eliminate all of my attachments and face the persecution in an upright manner.
