Additional Persecution News from China – July 23, 2016 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Jinyu Sentenced to Prison

Shenhe Court held a trial to prosecute Mr. Lu Jinyu and issued a sentence on May 12, 2016 without notifying his family. Mr. Lu has appealed to Shenyang Intermediate Court.

2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Gang and Ms. Li Yanrong Arrested

Mr. Li Gang and Ms. Li Yanrong from Longfeng Residential District in Dongzhou District were arrested in the morning on July 22, 2016.

3. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Qin Arrested

Ms. Wang Qin was arrested when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 22, 2016.

4. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Mingli, Ms. Qin Ping, Mr. Wang Libo, and Mr. Chen Wei from Sangang Township were arrested on July 21, 2016.

5. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Mingli Arrested

Ms. Wang Mingli was arrested by officers from Sangang Township Police Station on July 21, 2016.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Rulian Detained

Five officers from Xiangheyuan Police Station in Chaoyang District broke into Ms. Chen Rulian's rented home and arrested her on July 20, 2016. They confiscated Falun Gong books and a music player for Falun Gong exercises. She was taken to the police station. Later she was taken to Chaoyang Detention Center.

7. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Fuzhang Taken Into Custody

Mr. Xu Fuzhang, from the urban area, was arrested and taken to Laixi Police Department in the evening on July 20, 2016. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, printed materials, and a photo of the founder of Falun Gong. Mr. Xu remains in custody at the police department.

8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Guangqin Detained

Ms. Li Guangqin, 71, was reported when she talked to people about Falun Gong on July 15, 2016. She was arrested by Jinzhou police. She is being held in Jinzhou Detention Center.

9. [Greater Khingan Range, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gong Benhua and Ms. Chen Huanhua Arrested

Ms. Gong Benhua and her sister Ms. Chen Huanhua from Jiagedaqi District were arrested by officers who were staked out there when they hung banners on the evening of July 21, 2016. Their homes were ransacked.

10. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Dai and Ms. Ding Arrested

Mr. Dai, in his 50s, from Kuancheng District was followed and arrested when he hung banners in Helong Town on July 21, 2016. Aunt Ding was also arrested at the same time.

11. [Chongqing] Mr. Qu Chi Arrested

Mr. Qu Chi was arrested at home by plainclothes officers on July 21, 2016. The officers confiscated a computer and a printer.

12. [Liaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Suzhen Showing Stroke Symptoms

Ms. Wang Suzhen, from Liaoyang County, has been detained and tortured in the No. 8 Ward in Liaoning Women's Prison. She exhibited symptoms of a stroke, was unable to speak, and was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. Currently, four police officers are keeping an eye on her in the hospital, where she remains handcuffed.

13. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Guihua Detained

Ms. Li Guihua was arrested when she spoke to people about Falun Gong on July 17, 2016. She is being held in Shili Detention Center.

14. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Quan Qiming and two other practitioners from Lijiatuo Residential District in the Banan District were arrested by over 20 police officers on July 21, 2016. Their current situations are unknown.

15. [Zhangzi County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Chen Xintang Detained

Mr. Chen Xintang was arrested and detained for over eight months for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. He is still held in the county detention center.

16. [Putian City, Fujian Province] Mr. Xu Hanxiong Detained

Mr. Xu Hanxiong from Chengxiang District was recently arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. He is being held in Putian Detention Center.

17. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tan Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Tan Xiuying was reported when she talked to people about Falun Gong on July 20, 2016. She was arrested by officers from Dongguan Police Station, and her home was ransacked. She returned home that afternoon.

18. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Mr. Fan Jinglong Detained

Mr. Fan Jinglong from Niqiu Town in Taihe County was arrested by officers from Taihe County Domestic Security Division and Niqiu Town Police Station on July 15, 2016. He was held in Taihe County Detention Center for 10 days.

19. [Shanghai] Ms. Tao Liyun and Ms. Huang Qinxiu Detained

Officers from Pudong New Area 610 Office, Gaohang Town Police Station, and Gaohang Town 610 Office broke into Ms. Tao Liyun's home in Gaohang Town on the morning of July 20, 2016. They arrested Ms. Tao and Ms. Huang Qinxiu. Both practitioners were taken to Pudong New Area Detention Center.

Ms. Chen Xiaoling from Chengqu District was arrested by Su Zhengrong, officer from Chengqu District 610 Office, Wei Zewen, head of the Domestic Security Division, and other officers at noon on July 19, 2016. She was taken to Sanshui Brainwashing Center.
