Practitioners: Have We Done Our Best?

August 22, 2016 |   By Dafa practitioner Zixiu

(Minghui.org) I have been very slack in my cultivation. My hand drooped when sending righteous thoughts. I failed to get up for morning exercises. I was often absent-minded when studying the Fa. I felt timid when clarifying the facts to people.

I used to find excuses for my attachment to comfort and my human notions and thinking. I’d tell myself that I could let go of all my attachments at the last moment—I’d “wake up” straight away and return home with Master.

These were my warped notions that I held the last few years as I stumbled along on my cultivation path. I continued to seek a comfortable life and dawdled around in everyday society.

Then it occurred to me: We’re now in the very final, final stage of Fa-rectification. If I don’t do well I won’t have another chance! I now have a very strong sense of urgency.

I thought about how I cultivated these last seven or eight years. There were so many things I didn’t do well and so many opportunities I wasted! I now want to catch up and would like to share some of my understandings as a warning to others.

In ancient times, every battle was one of life and death and a matter of victory or defeat. Yet today, when we send righteous thoughts, sometimes we treat it as a task, muddling along half-heartedly. We might think we will do better next time, but there are so many next times.

In a battle, military orders cannot be disobeyed. If soldiers are scattered and muddle-headed after an order is given, the battle will surely be lost even if the enemy is very weak.

The evil is putting up a desperate last ditch struggle at the moment and is looking at us fiercely. The old forces are still trying to take advantage of our loopholes to drag us down and they are still persecuting us. How can we slack off on this battlefield? How can we not do our very best to defeat them?

We are on the final leg of the last stage. Suppose we only have one year left (just an assumption to make a point). Some people may think 365 days is still a long time and they can still catch up.

However, each day that passes is one less day to cultivate. We all have a long, long way to go in our cultivation. If we keep marking time and then the time is up, we will feel grave regret.

To cultivate in Dafa does not provide any guarantees. Even though one has studied the Fa does not mean that one is a true Dafa disciple in the Fa-rectification Period.

If we dawdle, even the countless Fa guardians in Heaven cannot stand it. In their eyes, we are even worse than those everyday people who do not know the truth. They are waiting for us to save them and yet we do nothing to save them although we have been given the ability.

Master is rectifying the Fa and no life can stay out of it. Everyone must take responsibility for their mistakes.

We have obtained the Fa because we have an important mission to assist Master in the Fa-rectification. If we fail to play our role properly and cause Master to worry about us, or even interfere with the progress of Fa-rectification, how can we possibly reach consummation? This is a huge crime!

Fellow practitioners, have we truly tried our best? Have we truly taken to heart the three things Master told us to do? Day in and day out, year in and year out, time has gradually worn down our will and our human hearts are moved with our work and life in everyday society.

Do we still remember the grand pledges we signed with the Creator before we descended to the human world and our determination to assist Master in the Fa-rectification?

No matter how we have slacked off, who we may have been in the past, or how poorly we may have done, we must not be attached to how much time is left. Ancient people said, “Having heard the Tao in the morning, one can die in the evening without regrets.”

Even though each day is precious and the countdown has begun, we should not be too concerned that there is not enough time. As long as we try our best every day at every moment, Master will help us as much as possible. Let us be more diligent and do our best.
