(Minghui.org) As ordered by the Yueyang City 610 Office, more than 10 Falun Gong practitioners were forced to attend brainwashing sessions, in which authorities coerce practitioners into renouncing their belief in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Two sessions have been held at the Yueyang City Brainwashing Center in Xiuhua Village since January 2016. Practitioners who were forced to attend the first session are: Duan Shumei, Bai Lianying, Wang Ling, Chen Pingjun, Li Xuanmei, Ceng Yuanxiang, and Zhong Tiemei.
At least four practitioners were forced to attend the second brainwashing session.
Agents from Junshan District 610 Office arrested practitioner Ms. Peng Xiaohui and took her to the brainwashing center on May 26.
Staff from the Guanyinge Community Office and officers from the Yueyanglou District Domestic Security Division and the Luxianting Police Station went to Ms. Chen Yuanlin's home to take her to the brainwashing center. When she refused to go with them, the officers persuaded her husband and brother-in-law to cooperate. Together, they dragged her into a car and took her to the brainwashing center.
Ms. Tang Rongwen was carried to a police car and taken to the brainwashing center on May 26.
Ms. Hu Gan, a teacher at the Yuecheng Elementary School, was taken to the brainwashing center on May 27.
Agents and officers from the Yueyang City 610 Office, Junshan District 610 Office, and Yueyanglou District Domestic Security Division participated in the brainwashing attempts inflicted on the practitioners.
When Ms. Peng refused to sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong, three officers seized her and forcibly put her fingerprint on the paper.
The four practitioners were released on June 1.
Many other practitioners were harassed by the authorities, including Fang Yuer, Liu Dan, Zhang Lihong, Xu Yujiao, Yang Mucun, Yao Chengzhi, Li Hongxiang, Zhou Chunmo, Xu Yuliang, Zhou Lanxiang, Zeng Jiechun, Chen Ying, Sun Zhizhen, Luo Ziyou, Li Huizhen, Li Zhenhong, Tang Dongan, and Ou Zhaoan.
