(Minghui.org) Ms. Jia Xuedong, a 25-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Inner Mongolia, was arrested on June 13 because she talked about withdrawal from the Communist Party in her class.
Ms. Jia taught mathematics at the Baiyinnuo'er Town Elementary School in Bailin Zuoqi of Chifeng City. Her last class of the day was 22 students.
Before she dismissed the class on June 8, she talked about the history of the communist party and encouraged the students to quit the Young Pioneer League.
Another teacher heard this and spoke to the parents of several students in that class. Together they complained to the principal. They asked that Ms. Jia be stripped of her teaching and homeroom duties. They threatened to take this to the Education Bureau if their demand was refused, and the principal agreed to it.
The police came to Ms. Jia's school on June 13. They accompanied her back to her dormitory and ransacked her room. They confiscated her computer and MP3 player, and arrested her. Ms. Jia is being held in a detention center.
Ms. Jia's parents are also Falun Gong practitioners. They were arrested in 2012. Her mother, Ms. Zhao Chunxia, was detained for seven months. Her father, Mr. Jia Bin, was sentenced to five years at the Chifeng City Fourth Prison.
