(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 were illegally arrested.

Ms. Li Yunjiu was arrested in Jiangsu Province on May 18, 2016.

Mr. Hou Xinlu and his wife Ms. Yang Xiaohong were arrested by officers from the Weibin Police Department on May 28, 2016. Their whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Xueqin Detained

Ms. Wang Xueqin was arrested by officers from Shandong Province and Zhuhai City in April 2016. She is detained at the Zibo City Detention Center.

Ms. Chen Meifen was arrested by officers from the Jiangyin 610 Office and Changjing Police Station on May 20, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator.

5. [Neihuang County, Henan Province] Ms. Duan Yinhuan Detained

Ms. Duan Yinhuan, 69, was arrested on May 31, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained at the Neihuang Detention Center.

6. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Xiaolin Detained

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yuan Fuxian was arrested on April 29, 2016, for telling others the facts about Falun Gong. She was held at a detention house for 15 days. Her husband, Mr. Chen Xiaolin, also a Falun Gong practitioner, went to the detention house on May 14 to pick her up, but did not see her. He later learned that she had been transferred to a detention center.

When Mr. Chen went to Nanguang Town Police Station on May 16 to ask why his wife had been transferred, he was arrested and taken to the Yibin City Detention Center.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhou Guofen Arrested

Ms. Zhou Guofen was arrested and taken to Dashiba Police Station on June 2, 2016. She was released later that day.

8. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Peng Xiaohui Held at Brainwashing Center

Mr. Peng Xiaohui was arrested and taken to the Xiuhuayuanshanzhuang Brainwashing Center on May 26, 2016.

Mr. Peng worked as an accountant before he was sentenced to a seven year prison term for practicing Falun Gong. He was released in May 2013 and worked odd jobs in Yueyang City.

9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Harassed

Six practitioners were harassed at home by officers from the Hanting Police Department on May 18 and 19, 2016. The police forced them to give their fingerprints. The harassed practitioners included Mr. Zhang Guohai, Ms. Yuan Xiuyan, Ms. Zhang Huating, Mr. Xu Xuerong, Mr. Zhang Guoshan, and Ms. Xu Xuemei. The police confiscated two Falun Gong books from Ms. Zhang.

10. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Harassed

More than twelve officers from the Shimenzai Town Police Station went to the homes of Ms. Cao Fengxia and Mr. Zhang Huicheng on June 2, 2016. No one was at home, but the police nonetheless ransacked Ms. Cao's home and confiscated 50 Falun Gong books, informational banners, and stickers which contained information about the persecution of Falun Gong.

11. [Gongyi City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Yang Xiuying was recently arrested.

12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Ding Hui, Mr. Zheng Bin, and Mr. Li Xiaoquan have been detained at the Damaqiao Detention Center in the Xindu District.

13. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners were recently arrested by officers from the Hongqi Town Police Station. The arrested practitioners include Mr. Jin Guirong, Mr. Jiang Benmin, Ms. Mu, and Ms. Wang Yan. Mr. Jin was taken to Yazijuan Detention Center on June 2, 2016, and another escaped.

14. [Chongqing] Mr. Peng Guangshui and Ms. Luo Kaibi Harassed

Mr. Peng Guangshui was harassed at home by eight officers from a local police station on May 11, 2016. The police ransacked his home but did not find anything. One of his family members was so terrified they suffered a heart attack.

Ms. Luo Kaibi was also harassed at home on the same day. The police confiscated all of her Falun Gong books.

15. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Ruifeng and her husband Mr. Zhao Jinchun, along with Mr. Zhao Jinguo's wife were arrested at home by officers from the Qingzhou City Domestic Security Division on May 31, 2016. Ms. Zhang was taken to the Weifang Detention Center. Mr. Zhao's wife was released.

16. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tang Guifang Detained

Ms. Tang Guifang, in her sixties, was arrested by officers from the Zhuolu County 610 Office on June 1, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her son did not know about the arrest until the next day when he went to the local police department to report that his mother was missing. Ms. Tang was detained at the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center for ten days.

17. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Ye Arrested

Ms. Wang Ye was arrested and taken to the Tianlinxin Village Police Station on June 1, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

18. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Weizhen Harassed Twice

Ms. Li Weizhen was harassed by officers from the Nanhai Road Police Station on May 12 and 30, 2016. Using a miniature camera and pocket recorder the police videotaped and recorded her while trying to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong.

19. [Chongqing] Mr. Gao Hongwei Harassed

Mr. Gao Hongwei was harassed and photographed at home by officers including Yang Liu, head of the Residential Committee, on May 24, 2016.

20. [Ren County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Qiao Yunxia, Ms. Bai Xianmin, and Ms. Jia Yukun were arrested by officers from Guangzong County, and Zhang Menkan, a Domestic Security Division captain, on June 1, 2016. They were taken away by officers from the Ren County Police Department the next day. The police ransacked the homes of Ms. Qiao and Ms. Jia.

21. [Xinglong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Jinhong Arrested

Ms. Zhang Jinhong was arrested by officers from the Xinglong County Domestic Security Division on June 1, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. The police confiscated a laptop computer, two printers, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. She was taken to the Chengde City Detention Center.

22. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Shi Yaqiong On Hunger Strike

Ms. Shi Yaqiong is currently on a hunger strike to protest the persecution while detained at Xinxiang Women's Prison.

She was arrested in May 2015 for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falung Gong. She was subsequently detained at a detention center for approximately a year.

Ms. Shi was transferred to the prison in April, where she was deprived of sleep, and the guards and prisoners have tried to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong.

23. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Jie Detained

Ms. Zhang Jie was arrested at home by more than 20 officers, led by the director of the Xiangyang Road Police Station, on May 26, 2016. The police ransacked her home and confiscated computers, cell phones, Falun Gong books, and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained at the Fuyang City Detention Center for 15 days.

Ms. Zhang was detained by officers from the Xiangyanglu Police Station for 15 days in October 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin.

24. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Qingyu Tried

Ms. Zhang Qingyu was arrested by officers from Beixinzhuang Police Station on June 1, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was tried by the Renqiu City Court that afternoon.

The police took her to a hospital for a physical examination before taking her to the detention center. Ms. Zhang was diagnosed with high blood pressure, so the detention center refused to admit her. She was released that afternoon.
