(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Xu Dianlin and Wife Ms. Zhang Yuefang Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Xu Dianlin and his wife Ms. Zhang Yuefang were tried by the Songshan District Court on March 25, 2016. Mr. Xu was sentenced to five years in prison and Ms. Zhang was sentenced to four years in prison.

The couple was arrested at home by Xu Guofeng and other officers from the Songshan District Domestic Security Division at the end of September 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

The officers ransacked the couple's home and confiscated their personal belongings. The elderly couple were taken to the Songshan District Detention Center. Both were released pending trial for health reasons.

2. [Yuanyang County, Henan Province] Mr. Jin Jixin and Wife Ms. Kong Weiqin Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Jin Jixin and his wife Ms. Kong Weiqin were each sentenced to eight years in prison on January 27, 2016, by the Yuanyang County Court. The couple appealed. The Xinxiang City Intermediate Court rejected their appeals and upheld the original verdicts. Mr. Jin has been taken to the Xinmi Prison and Ms. Kong to the Xinxiang No. 5 Prison. They were arrested on November 3, 2014.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yi Xiaoping Detained

Ms. Yi Xiaoping was arrested by officers from the Nanguan District Police Department on May 20, 2016. She is being held in the Weizigou Detention Center.

4. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Jing Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Liu Jing, an employee at the Power Control Center of the Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd., was arrested by officers from the Tianhe District 610 Office on May 6, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. He has been held in the Sanshui Brainwashing Center.

5. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Sen Taken to Prison

Ms. Li Sen was sentenced to eight months in prison. She was taken to the Nanjing Women's Prison on May 11, 2016.

6. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Du Xiuju Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Du Xiuju, a physics teacher in the Lianyungang City Technician School, was sentenced to seven years in prison. She is being held in the Nanjing Prison.

7. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Ms. Gao Xiuying Detained

Ms. Gao Xiuying was arrested by officers from the Santa Police Station on the evening of May 13, 2016. She is being held in the Fuyang County Detention Center.

8. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Chang Lijun Arrested

Ms. Chang Lijun, from the Fuyuan Residential Community in the Datong Mining Bureau, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Xinzhou City Police Department at the gate to the residential community on May 27, 2016. The officers covered her head with a black hood during the arrest.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Hu Fengdong Detained

Mr. Hu Fengdong, from Situo Village, Daxinzhuang Town, the Fengnan District, was arrested and taken to the Fengnan Detention Center by officers from the Daxinzhuang Police Station on the morning of May 26, 2016. He was detained for 15 days.

10. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Meifang and Ms. Wang Meizhen Taken into Custody

Ms. Sun Meifang and Ms. Wang Meizhen from Suji Town were arrested by officers from the Sunji Police Station while they were talking to people about Falun Gong at the Sanyuanzhu Farmers Market around May 26, 2016. Both are held in the police station.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Dong Wenling Detained

Ms. Dong Wenling, 50, from the Acheng District, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Acheng District Domestic Security Division on May 27, 2016. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Yaziquan Detention Center.

12. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Xueqing Detained

Ms. Ma Xueqing is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center after being discharged from Dalian No. 3 Hospital.

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Hong and Husband Detained

Ms. Wang Hong and her husband were arrested by officers from the Dongfeng Police Station of the Changchun Automobile Factory on May 20, 2016. They are being held in the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

14. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Jinying and Ms. Chen Yan Arrested

Ms. Yang Jinying and Ms. Chen Yan were arrested by officers from the Huangchuan County Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 20, 2016. They were taken to the Beicheng Police Station. The officers confiscated their Falun Gong informational materials and their cell phones. Both practitioners were later released.

15. [Xi County, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Cuiyun and Husband Mr. Zhou Zhiyou Arrested

Ms. Liu Cuiyun and her husband Mr. Zhou Zhiyou were arrested by officers from the Xi County Domestic Security Division when they put up Falun Gong informational stickers on the evening of May 24, 2016. The officers confiscated a computer and Falun Gong books. Ms. Liu was forced to leave town. Mr. Zhou has remained in custody.

Ms. Zhao Yanmin from Beidian Township was arrested by officers from the Beidian Township Police Station in the Qingyuan District on May 15, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and 10,000 yuan in cash.
