(Minghui.org) Since the end of May 2015, over 200,000 Chinese people have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese communist regime, for his role in initiating the persecution of Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa) in 1999.
Apart from the official letters of complaint filed primarily by Falun Gong practitioners, more people are signing petitions in support of the initiative by Falun Gong practitioners.
It has recently been confirmed that a total of 15,783 citizens have signed a petition supporting the lawsuits as of April 8, 2016. They include 3,396 residents from Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, 2,419 from Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, and 9,968 from Quzhou County, Hebei Province.
The supporters include practitioners' family members and friends, as well as new practitioners. These are people who are aware that the persecution is a major injustice and that it amounts to the systematic destruction of a group of people because of their belief.
Many family members shared that they have witnessed the effectiveness of Falun Gong in promoting healing and fitness, as well as the great spiritual improvements the practice has brought to people.
A 10-year-old girl expressed her thanks to Falun Gong for bringing her to this world. Her parents wanted to abort her, but because her grandmother was a practitioner, who was taught that abortion was equivalent to killing and was strictly prohibited, she was brought into this world. This child began to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” from the time she could speak.
A number of people have told practitioners, “For years Falun Gong practitioners have been telling us the facts. We are well aware of how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Gong. Practitioners live by Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance. There is nothing wrong with adhering to these principles. The Chinese regime should recognize the wrongness of their actions and bring Jiang Zemin, who launched the persecution, to justice.
Removing organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and selling them for profit is beyond evil. Whoever has committed such an atrocity should be punished. If this is true, Jiang Zemin's regime and those involved in this crime must be brought to justice.”
The persecution has not stopped people from taking up the practice of Falun Gong.
A Zunyi City couple and their son experienced great benefits after they began practicing Falun Gong. The family are among those who have reported Jiang's crimes to the authorities.
The woman recalled, “I lacked self-confidence, was narrow-minded and a complainer. Now, I am tolerant, kind, considerate and care about others' needs first.”
Her 47-year-old husband, a driver by profession, shared an extraordinary experience. His knees had been badly injured in an accident. However, within a short time after taking up Falun Gong, he recovered completely and could walk as well as he did before the accident.
His wife witnessed his recovery and took up the practice, as well. Their family life also became harmonious.
The couple's son, who learned about Falun Gong through his mother, once suffered a slipped disc in his lower back, which caused him severe pain. The doctors gave him a bleak prognosis – that medication would only lessen his pain and surgery could result in paralysis. The young man opted to put his trust in Falun Gong, and often recited, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He recovered within a few days.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
