(Minghui.org) The director of a police hospital, my cousin, was diagnosed with a terminal stomach cancer in 2014. His family had lost all hope.
I gave him Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Gong and said, “Read this book. If you trust Falun Gong, and follow its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, you will greatly benefit.”
His wife, sister, daughter, and son-in-law overheard me and neither believed me. Pointing to his stomach, my cousin said with great doubt: “It would be a miracle, if practicing Falun Gong could bring about a cure.”
“I have told you so much about Falun Gong, but you never took my words seriously,” I said. “Countless terminal illness patients have recovered after they practiced Falun Gong. I'm one of them.”
“Don't you remember that you arranged for my hospitalization 16 years ago, after I was diagnosed with early stomach cancer and other illnesses? Did I not recover after I practiced Falun Gong? You didn't believe me back then, and said I was misdiagnosed.”
“The Party's claims that Falun Gong gets involved in politics. But, you know very well that I'm not interested in power or wealth. All I want is for you to recover.”
My cousin and all others smiled and nodded.
I then said to his wife, “I have an assignment for you. You need to read Zhuan Falun with your husband. Read as much as possible daily. It is not an ordinary book. It tells you Buddha laws.” She agreed and said that it would be great if it results in her husband's recover. I also told her that he should refrain from watching television.
I went to see him again two weeks later, and he was watching television. I told him stories about Falun Gong's amazing healing power and about my practicing Falun Gong. I also answered a few questions of his.
When I returned to his house two days later, he was reading Zhuan Falun. He was so engrossed that he did not notice that I was there. After he put down Zhuan Falun, he told me that he had learned a lot. He then had a few questions. Instead of answering his questions, I told him to continue reading the book, and that he would find the answers to most of those questions.
A few days later, I brought him more Falun Gong books. I explained that he and his family should continue to read the book and follow the teachings, because they are the key to recovery.
One month later, he went to a large hospital in Beijing for a physical examination. The doctor told him that the tumors had shrunk and wondered what therapy my cousin was under. My cousin didn't give a direct answer.
Two weeks later, he had another examination. The doctor said the tumors were even smaller, and it would be a good time to have the tumors removed surgically. However, since he was still weak, it was his decision. By then, my cousin had learned to trust in Falun Gong. He opted out on the surgery.
