My Resentment Brought Me Trouble, But My Selflessness Helped People Understand Falun Dafa

April 01, 2016 |   By a Chinese Falun Dafa practitioner

(Minghui.org) I learned an important lesson from an incident that happened two years ago.

When a Falun Dafa practitioner visited me, she saw that I had Dafa informational materials. She asked me to save them for her, but they were reserved for another practitioner, so I had to make another batch of materials for her.

Twenty days passed and the practitioner hadn't returned to collect the materials she asked for. When I heard that she had returned to the city she worked in, I was unhappy. In order to avoid having the materials stored in my home, I handed them out to others.

Arrested by the Police

I was once talking to an elderly man on the street. Just as I was about to hand him a flyer, someone grabbed the bag off my back and pulled my arms together behind me. I didn't realize that I was being followed by several police officers.

One bystander asked the police, “Why are you arresting him? I looked at his materials and the information is very good.” The police told him that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) doesn't allow people to practice Falun Dafa. The officers then drove me to the police station. It was around 3:00 p.m.

There were many people at the police station, so I had to wait for them to deal with my case. I used the time to calm down and look within. I knew that I had been interfered with, which indicated that I had a xinxing problem.

I realized that my heart was full of resentment over the practitioner who didn't come to collect the materials, and my mindset was far from the requirements of the Fa to save sentient beings. If I couldn't practice compassion and tolerance for a fellow practitioner, who could I have compassion for? I regretted my resentment and asked Master to give me a chance to improve.

I was taken upstairs to be interrogated about an hour later. I refused to give them any of my details. I told the person in charge that Falun Dafa is good and is practiced in over 100 countries, that the Tiananmen self-immolation was staged by the CCP, and that he should quit the Party.

The policeman said, “I thought I was doing the interrogating? I won’t talk to you any further. You can go back downstairs!”

Police Chief: “I Know You Are Good People!”

The officer took me downstairs and told the police chief that I asked him to quit the CCP.

The police chief said that he'd known for over ten years that Falun Dafa practitioners were good people. He then told the other officers to drive me home. I didn't want to waste their time, but he insisted that they drive me home because he was responsible for my safety.

Before I got into the vehicle, the police chief said in front of the other officers, “I know you are good people!”

I talked to the driver about Dafa and the persecution on the way home. He smiled and agreed with what I said.

They dropped me off at the government residential compound, so I took the opportunity to talk with two CCP members there about Dafa. They accepted my information and happily quit the CCP.

Handing Out the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party

The day I was released from the police station, I met a practitioner who had to leave her home in another city to avoid being arrested. She carried a bag of booklets of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party on her shoulder and held another bag in her hand. She told me she was going to hand them out to people.

I took her shoulder bag to help hand out the booklets. Another practitioner happened to pass by and joined us.

I gave the first copy of the Nine Commentaries to a middle-aged man, who said he would read it. I kept walking and handed out 30 booklets. Some people held their thumbs up in support, and one said, “I admire those who practice Falun Dafa!”

My nervousness and fear disappeared that day. I gave out all the copies of the Nine Commentaries. My mind was calm and it felt broad and open. I was filled with a deep feeling of happiness.
