(Minghui.org) There have been many discussions on Minghui recently about Shen Yun DVDs no longer being circulated in China.
Some practitioners complained and said that it is all because other practitioners didn't do well. Here I would like to share my understandings from a different angle.
As practitioners, we know that nothing is accidental in our cultivation. Master told us that,
“When a problem arises, do not try to find out who should be held accountable. Instead, you should examine your own conduct. Do not try to look into who wrote them. Take a lesson from it and be careful in the future.” (“Correction” in Essentials for Further Advancement)
Master also said,
“Cultivate yourselves. I don't want the environment Dafa disciples have to become one in which people point fingers at each other. I want the environment to be one in which everyone can accept criticism and at the same time look inside themselves. If everyone cultivates himself, everyone looks within, and everyone cultivates himself well, won't the conflicts be few? This is a principle I have taught all along, going back to when I first began teaching the Fa. Isn't that so? Improvement for a cultivator definitely doesn't result from finger pointing, nor does it result from my criticism of you as your Master or from your pointing fingers at or criticizing each other. It comes from you cultivating yourself. Now that Master has spoken about this in today's teaching of Fa here, from this point on you must start to take this matter seriously.” (“Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles”)
I think that what has happened is not accidental. Anything that take place in this human world requires a trigger point. In fact, what happened recently with the Shen Yun DVDs could be a prelude to Shen Yun's arrival in China. That is, things will be fine as long as we do well what we are supposed to do.
The production of Shen Yun DVDs in recent years has consumed a lot of material resources, money, and manpower. When our mentality is not righteous, we cannot save people effectively and many problems arise. The DVD disc, the box, and the cover paper for each DVD already costs more than five yuan (~USD$0.77). And this does not include the ink and labor involved. We usually spend more than six months after the Chinese New Year to distribute them. But, did we really achieve the desired outcome?
Because of fear and other attachments, some practitioners in mainland China chose to simply distribute Shen Yun DVDs instead of using it as an opportunity to further tell people the facts about Falun Gong. When our mentality is not righteous, people will not cherish the DVDs and they might even discard the DVDs without watching them. In some rural villages the young men have all relocated to cities for work, and the elderly residents may not know how to play the DVDs. We should keep these things in mind to avoid wasting resources.
Regarding the problematic situations described above, Master is aware of them and other divine beings also know about them. With no access to Shen Yun DVDs in China now, people can hear how good the Shen Yun performances are around the world from people who travel overseas. When people truly want to watch Shen Yun but cannot find the performance, it could be time for Shen Yun to come to China.
Let us stop complaining or harboring other negative thoughts about each other. As long as we do well what we are supposed to do, things will be fine.
