At Least 14 Practitioners Arrested in Chaoyang County for Suing Jiang Zemin

November 10, 2016 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) The Chaoyang County Police Department in Liaoning Province started another round of illegal arrests of practitioners who filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former dictator responsible for launching the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in 1999.

Branch stations were assigned quotas of practitioners to be arrested. At least 14 practitioners in Chaoyang County were arrested in the month preceding October 27, 2016.

They were: Ms. Li Fengzhen, Mr. Guo Zhenxue, Ms. Hu Qinglian, Mr. Lei Jianhua, Ms. Zhang Xiuxia, Ms. Song Shouyun, Ms. Yuan Guifan, Ms. Zhang Shuhuan, Ms. Feng Huixiao, Mr. Wu Junxian, Ms. Li Guixia, Ms. Xie Baofeng, Ms. Liu Yujuan, and Ms. Tian Yulian.

Another practitioner, Mr. Ju Guangge, was arrested on the morning of October 21, but released later that night.

Liang Shiwu, Domestic Security Division captain of the Chaoyang County Police Department, actively persecuted practitioners after he was assigned to that position in October 2015. He ordered the police to harass local practitioners. They ransacked their homes and pressured them to sign statements promising not to sue Jiang Zemin. If practitioners refused, their family members were pressured to sign. If family members refused, the practitioners were arrested. The Chaoyang County police claim to have been involved in the arrest or harassment of 360 practitioners.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other members of the Politburo Standing Committee and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Communist regime established an extralegal security organization, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows its citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
