(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Jiao Guiying Died After Harassment

Ms. Jiao Guiying, 68, was harassed and threatened many times for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. She was harassed recently by officers from the Yongchang County Police Station. She passed away on September 10, 2016.

2. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Sumei Taken to a Mental Hospital

Ms. Zhang Sumei from the Baoshan District was arrested by officers from the Gaojingmiao Police Station on the morning of August 19, 2016. She was later taken to the Baoshan Mental Hospital, where she was forced to take unknown medicine. She was brought home by her family on September 12, 2016.

3. [Da'an City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Fengxian Force to Leave Home

Ms. Zhang Fengxian was reported for telling people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of September 9, 2016. She had a heart attack and was rushed to a hospital. The police still attempted to detain her. She was forced to leave her home. Her whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cai Daofeng and Ms. Zhang Yuju Detained

Ms. Cai Daofeng, Ms. Zhang Yuju, and two other practitioners went to the Guankou Police Station to request the return of Ms. Zhang's motorcycle. The police refused and arrested Ms Cai and Ms. Zhang. The two practitioners were taken to the Pengzhou City Detention Center.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jiang Yiling's Home Ransacked

Ms. Jiang Yiling, in her 60s, is from Jintang County. The police ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books around September 9, 2016.

6. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Five Practitioners Tried

Mr. Xu Min, Mr. Duan Tianjun, and three other practitioners were tried on September 6, 2016.

7. [Linshu County, Shandong Province] Two Female Practitioners Taken Into Custody

Two female practitioners were followed by Li Fangchun and officers from the Linshu County 610 Office after hanging up Falun Gong informational display boards on September 12, 2016. Both practitioners were taken into custody at the Zhucang Police Station.

8. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Yan Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Yan was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Yicheng District Court on September 14, 2016. He is being held in the Zaozhuang City No. 1 Detention Center. He was handcuffed and shackled for 18 days for refusing to participate in forced labor. Even though there was blood in his stool he was still shackled.

9. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Chengmei Detained

Ms. Song Chengmei was arrested around September 9, 2016. She is being held in the Weifang City Detention Center.

10. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Ni Ruju Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Ni Ruju was sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Guan County Court. The court issued the verdict without her lawyer present. Ms. Ni appealed to the Liaocheng Intermediate Court.

11. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Gu Rongfeng Arrested

Mr. Gu Rongfeng was arrested in Wuxi about 10 days ago.

12. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yao Aiguo Detained

Mr. Yao Aiguo from Dongmazhuang Village in the Fengrun District was arrested at home at noon on September 10, 2016. He is being held in the Fengrun District Detention Center.

13. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Wu Yumin, 70, Mr. Jiao Luojun, 28, and Ms. Pan, in her 40s, were reported when they distributed Falun Gong informational materials at the Tianmu Mountain Resort in Lin'an City. They were arrested by officers from the Lin'an Police Department. The three practitioners are being held in the Lin'an City Detention Center. They were interrogated several times and denied family visits.

About seven plainclothes officers ransacked Ms. Wu's home the following day. They confiscated a desktop computer, a cell phone, two address books, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.

14. [Yidu City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhao Jucai Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Mr. Zhao Jucai, from Zhoujiahe Village, Honghuatao Town, was reported when he distributed Falun Gong informational materials on December 22, 2015. He was placed under criminal detention by the Yidu City Police Department.

Zhang Xiong, head of the Yidu City 610 Office, Li Zhong, head of the Domestic Security Division, and officers from the Honghuatao Police Station ransacked Mr. Zhao's home and confiscated Falun Gong books, cell phones, a computer, satellite receivers, and other personal belongings.

The Yidu City Court held a secret hearing against Mr. Zhao on July 6, 2016, without informing his family members. Mr. Zhao was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.

15. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Qiu Qianying and Ms. Tang Fangju Arrested

Ms. Qiu Qianying and Ms. Tang Fangju were arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong by officers from the 610 Office, who were staked out there, on September 13, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to the Tuanjie Police Station in Hecheng District.

16. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Yang Xuegui Arrested

Mr. Yang Xuegui was arrested when he hung a Falun Gong banner on September 14, 2016.

17. [Yongchang County, Gansu Province] Ms. Huang Zhixiu Detained

Ms. Huang Zhixiu was arrested by railway police at the security check point in a train station in mid-August 2016, after the officers searched his luggage and found a Falun Gong book. She was transferred back to Yongchang County and detained for 15 days. She has returned home.

18. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wan Chuhai Given a Four-Year Prison Term

Mr. Wan Chuhai was tried by the Yuanbao District Court on August 3, 2016. His family received a verdict from the court on August 23, that Mr. Wan was given a four-year prison term. Mr. Wan was taken to the Shenyang Prison on September 2, 2016.

19. [Chongqing] Five Practitioners Detained and Extorted

Ms. Zhang Dongmei, Mr. Huang Xingming, Ms. Chen Shuyu, Ms. Chen Xiaojuan, and Ms. Jiang Guolan, from Qingxi Town, Fuling District, were arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Damu Township, Fuling District, in September 2016. They were taken to the Wulong Detention Center. Four were released after being extorted 50,000 yuan each. They continue to be harassed and are under surveillance at home. Ms. Zhang Dongmei refused to give the police money and is still being detained.
