(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 38 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.
Ms. Liu Yuying was arrested on July 20, 2015. She was tried by the Kaifa District Court on December 8, 2015. She was recently sentenced to a three-year prison term. She has appealed to the Dalian Intermediate Court.
Ms. Gu Pinghua was tried by the Nanchang County Court on December 4, 2015, and recently sentenced to a three-year prison term. She is being detained at the Jiangxi Province Women's Prison.
Ms. Zhang Yuanting and Ms. Zuo Xiuyun were arrested by officers from the Yongan Police Department on December 25, 2015. They are detained in the Yongan City Detention Center.
Ms. Su Xunrong, in her fifties, was arrested at the Lingyuan Railway Station by officers from the Railway Police Department on January 2, 2016, when she was found with informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being detained in Chaoyang City.
Mr. Song Zheng was arrested and his home was ransacked by officers including Wang Gongjun from the Domestic Security Division on December 27, 2015. He is being detained at the Jiaozuo City Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Guilan's home was ransacked by officers from the Huangzhou District Domestic Security Division on December 30, 2015. The police confiscated 2,200 yuan, a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, approximately 30 Falun Gong books, and two tape recorders with Falun Gong exercise music.
Ms. Liu Li was arrested by officers from the Jiangan Police Station, and detained for approximately one month. She was not charged, and was released on January 1, 2016.
Officers from the Jiangan Police Station forced her family to give them 5,000 yuan in order to secure her release. The police also threatened her family members and ransacked their homes. No Falun Gong books were found, so the police confiscated approximately 20 other books.
Ms. Chen Guanglan, her husband Mr. Zhang Zhonghua, and her sister-in-law Ms. Deng Zhongqiong were arrested at Ms. Chen's home by officers from the Suining City Domestic Security Division, Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, and the police department on December 24, 2015. The police ransacked her home.
Ms. Chen was released 24 hours later due to her poor eyesight. Mr. Zhang and Ms. Deng are detained at the Yongxing Detention Center in Suining.
Ms. Deng Li's home was ransacked by police on December 23, 2015. Since she was not home the police destroyed the door to enter. They confiscated two computers, four printers, a recorder, a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and approximately 6,000 yuan in cash.
Ms. Wang Hongfen was recently harassed twice at home by officers from the Gongjiazhai Police Station in Baiyun District. The second time, she was forcibly held down on the ground and had her blood drawn by six officers.
Ms. Chi Suqin was arrested at her son's home by officers from the Tumen City Police Department on January 4, 2016. The police ransacked her son's home.
Ms. Li Chunrong was deceived and arrested by officers from the Hutun Town Police Station on December 30, 2015. She was detained at Liaocheng City Detention Center for ten days.

Mr. Dong Jinzhu and Ms. Ding Ping were harassed at their homes by officers including Liu Xiaozhi from Bao Village in Wangkou Town, Xinji City on December 30, 2015.
They were threatened, and forced to sign documents. If they did not sign, they were threatened to be detained, fined, and taken to a brainwashing center.
Mr. Wang Zhongbao was arrested at his workplace by officers including Li Xiaokui from Wumahe on January 4, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a satellite receiver, informational brochures about the persecution of Falun Gong, two couplets, a few CDs, and stacks of paper.

Four local residents were recently sentenced to prison for suing former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, for launching the persecution of Falun Gong. The practitioners' families and their lawyers did not learn about the trial until the day after it was held.
Ms. Wang Wenjuan and Mr. Cao Qicai were each sentenced to four-year prison terms, Ms. Liu Li to five years, and Ms. Gao Hui Ling was sentenced to one year. Ms. Gao was transferred to Heilongjiang Women's Prison on December 24. Mr. Cao and Ms. Liu have filed appeals against their sentences.
Ms. Wang was first arrested on July 22, 2015 and detained for 15 days. Upon her release, she requested that the items seized from her home be returned, but the police denied her request. She visited the police station about one month later to deliver letters explaining why the persecution is wrong and why the police should return the items they confiscated.
Deputy police chief Bao Zhicheng and instructor Sun Liwei retaliated by arresting Ms. Wang again on September 10, 2015. Ms. Wang is currently being held in the Harbin Second Detention Center. It is not clear when she will be transferred to prison.
Local police arrested nine residents on December 24, 2015, for seeking the release of four illegally imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners.
Several days later, the police arrested three more residents, including Mr. Tian Baoyu, his wife Ms. Cao Xiufang, and their son Mr. Tian Qingjie.
Zhou Guimei managed to escape after the police ransacked his home on December 28.
Sun Yanhua received a phone call on December 30, requesting that he visit the police station. He refused to comply with the demand.
During a secret hearing held on December 30, 2015, the Yichun City Intermediate Court issued a decision to uphold the original sentences of five local residents.
Ms. Jiang Lanying, Ms. Chen Xiaojuan, Ms. Xiong Quanmei, Ms. Mei Yufeng, and Mr. Wang Honghua were arrested on February 24, 2015, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Jiang was later sentenced to a 3.5-year prison term, with the rest of the practitioners each receiving three-year terms.
The four women have been transferred to Jiangxi Women's Prison. It's still unknown where Mr. Wang was sent.
Mr. Ouyang Hongbo was sentenced to a six-year prison term in October 2015 for practicing Falun Gong. He filed an appeal shortly afterwards. Shenyang Intermediate Court judge Cao Shijun issued a decision to uphold the original sentence on November 17, 2015.
The higher court, however, never informed the defense lawyer, who didn't discover the decision until one month later, while he was visiting his client.
Mr. Ouyang's family protested this violation of legal procedure to judge Cao, but he brushed off their complaint, saying, "Go ahead and sue me!"
Mr. Dai Dongwu recently filed an appeal against his three-year sentence, and a complaint against two police officers who interrogated him with torture.
Mr. Dai was arrested on June 19, 2014, and brutally tortured by Pang Yufeng and Dian Yifeng, both officers from the Huantai County Police Department. Despite the police brutality and fabricated evidence, Huantai County Court sentenced Mr. Dai to three and half years on September 11, 2014 for his belief in Falun Gong.
Mr. Fu Gui, Mr. Li Runtian, Mr. Long Bingfeng, Mr. Sun Pinghua, and Mr. Yan Changhai were recently prosecuted. The excuse used was that they had filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, who launched the persecution of Falun Gong.
The Procuratorate issued the notification of prosecution separately in late December. The four practitioners are being held at the Yueyang Detention Center. Their family members went there and requested to visit them many times, but the detention center refused the requests.
