(Minghui.org) I was arrested for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I was held in a detention center for 15 days.
The detention room had two lights, which were on 24 hours a day. Two video cameras were up on the ceiling, and the restroom had no door. The entire room was under constant surveillance. Any detainee who used the toilet in the evening had to have someone accompany her. One detainee was on duty every night, and that person was not allowed to sleep.
A fellow practitioner, (Zao, alias) was brought in several hours before me.
Two drug addicts were there. The older one was Xing (47, alias) and the younger one was Hui (26, alias).
I could not sleep the first night, so I sat up in bed to do the sitting meditation.
Two women, both in their 30s, were brought in at about 2:00 a.m. They badmouthed the police and were detained for five days for “attacking the police.” One of them saw that I practiced Falun Gong. Frightened, she asked the guard to move her to a different room. The guard told her that Falun Gong practitioners do not hit or insult people. She relaxed after that.
I told them about Falun Gong and asked them to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. They just hid from me in fear.
Another Falun Gong practitioner had already helped Xing quit the CCP. Xing was either sleeping or eating the whole day, one of the side effects of her drug abuse.
Hui screamed and cried due to her withdrawal pains. She kept scratching her thighs and said ants were crawling on her and biting her. I told her to quietly recite the words “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” I do not know whether she did it or not.
On the second day Hui shouted loudly when the pain came again.
I sat next to her, massaging her thigh and repeating those nine words to her until she slept. Hui did not have withdrawal pains from then on.
On the third day, another Falun Gong practitioner (Mei, alias) was brought in. Mei liked to tell stories from traditional Chinese culture, and her stories were all about how people should be good. The detainees and I loved to listen to her stories. We liked to sit down after dinner to listen to her.
Mei easily convinced the two women who insulted the police to withdraw their membership from the CCP.
On the fifth day, another practitioner (Tian, alias) was brought in. She had a sweet voice and was a good singer, but she could only sing one Falun Gong song: “Coming for You.” Zao could also only sing one song: “Be Saved.”
We all learned to sing the two songs and one additional song, “Falun Dafa Is Good.” Whenever we had the chance, we would sing these songs to help us get through those dark days.
There were five Falun Gong practitioners total in the room. We washed the dishes, mopped the floor, and took turns doing the night duty so the non-practitioners could sleep well. We shared our rice with the other prisoners who had big appetites. We even shared our allotted toilet paper, as well as the fruit that our family members brought for us.
Mei scrubbed the toilet with detergent and steel wool to make it look like new. Mei also cleaned the garbage container. She said, “We will bring the goodness of Falun Gong to wherever we stay.”
The two ladies who were identified as having attacked the police loved how differently they felt around Falun Gong practitioners. “We would have run away if you had told us to withdraw from the CCP out in the street. Here, we feel the goodness of Falun Gong and realize that you were wronged, because we see how you folks behave.”
More practitioners were brought in, along with several drug abusers and gamblers, so the total in the room was 17 people including eight Falun Gong practitioners.
I had with me the list for people who wished to quit the CCP. It now had the names of 12 people. I knew it was merciful Master who pushed these predestined people in there to be saved.
Most of the non-practitioner prisoners were arrested for abusing drugs. They were very kind but just polluted by society. They would not have gotten into this situation if their environment had been better. They heard about Falun Gong in detention, and one of them even wrote her own letter suing Jiang.
Everyone received good rewards after they chose to quit the CCP.
The two women that had supposedly “attacked the police” were released, and they still had their jobs. They had been worried they would be fired by their companies.
The person who was supposed to be sent to rehab was taken in by her family, so she did not need to go through the forced drug-rehabilitation process.
Hui was in detention for a second time. She was supposed to finish the official paperwork 15 days later, but a government official came to finish her case early.
We held a farewell party for Hui. She was touched and cried. She promised to change her old behavior and to be a better person. She left her contact information with us.
The people in detention with us all appreciated Falun Gong. We saw many beautiful Falun on the TV screen in our unit. I knew that Master allowed us to see the Falun to encourage us.
