(Minghui.org) I am a teacher who had many ailments when I was in my early 30s, until my sister introduced Falun Dafa to me in 1996.

I used to suffer from stomach and back pain. My back would bother me after spending 20 minutes in the classroom. After I would make steam buns on Sundays, I would have to stay in bed because of the excruciating back pain. I spent a lot of money in seeking medical treatments, but no doctor was able to help.

My parents and my physician sister had already been practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, and they were healthy because of the practice. So they recommended it to me. I began to read Zhuan Falun in September 1996. I did the Falun Dafa exercises everyday.

The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance touched my heart and helped me understand the meaning of life. I wanted to follow Master Li's teachings (the founder of Falun Dafa) and be a good person, an extraordinary person. I became healthy, little by little.

Incorporating Falun Dafa's Principles in My Teachings

I conducted myself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance when I taught my students. I always tried to be sincere, kind, and encouraging when I talked to them, especially those who did not perform well academically.

Students in China face so much competition these days. Although they are good kids, they are often reprimanded by their parents and teachers when they do poorly in school. Some of them would even develop an inferiority complex and feel hopeless.

I remember Liu, a student in my sixth-grade class. She did poorly in every subject and had a low self-esteem. I told her we would start from ground zero, regardless of her previous test scores. I assigned homework according to each student's capability. I encouraged students who made progress, especially those who needed more help.

I tried to be forgiving whenever the students made mistakes. I reminded them of their mistakes instead of scolding them. I injected interesting humorous stories when I lectured, and incorporated Falun Dafa's principles.

I made learning fun and raised the students' level of confidence. As a result, they showed significant improvement in their test scores. My student, Liu, said to me one day, “You are the only teacher that likes students who have bad grades.” Many teachers and parents wanted to send their students and children to my class. They said that I encouraged a fun learning experience for the students.

I trained new teachers with the same level of dedication that I gave to the students. I showed them how to prepare and give lectures, and how best to correct the students' homework. I taught them how to guide and to best communicate with their students. I even helped them check their homework, analyze the test results, and point out the problems their students had. I also gave them mock up lectures. Although some of these teachers left the school years ago, many of them kept in touch with me.

I often get praises from the school administrators and principal. I have been teaching junior high school level English for the past ten years, and have received many teaching awards. I was promoted to “senior level” secondary school teacher in 2013.

It is all because of what I have gained from following Master and Dafa's teachings. I always try to be tolerant, and I am carefree and live a good life. My gratitude to Master is beyond words.
