(Minghui.org) My family told me that staff members from the neighborhood committee had stopped by and asked for me. They left a phone number for me to call. I thought this occurred because I had filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist regime who had launched the persecution against Falun Gong.
I calmed down and sorted through my thoughts. My first thought was that I had done nothing wrong or illegal, and I have nothing to fear. I realized that I had a great opportunity to talk to them about Falun Gong and the persecution.
However, they had left an out-of-service phone number, so I decided to visit the committee office. I was told to see the director.
The director appeared surprised to see me and asked a young female staff member who had accompanied him to my home to join the meeting. I immediately asked them why they wanted to see me. He seemed reluctant to speak and then asked if I had recently signed any documents.
“I didn't sign anything except a lawsuit I filed against Jiang Zemin,” I answered. His eyes widened. I then talked about the persecution and organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, crimes that Jiang initiated. The director refused to believe me, saying that I had not witnessed those crimes.
This was an opportunity to talk about what I had witnessed. When I was detained one winter, I was locked in a cell with an 18-year-old girl. The girl was taken away by the police and returned three days later.
The young lady told me that the police beat her during their interrogation, stripped off her coat and pants, and then took her outside. They left her in the snow for the entire night. They then dragged her back into the interrogation room and continued to beat her for two more days. She was covered with injuries.
“What kind of crime did this 18-year-old commit to deserve such torture?” I asked the director. “Just because she refused to give up her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the police brutally beat her. This is a common occurrence because Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong.”
They wanted to hear more, but the director was called away for another meeting. However, the young woman urged me to explain more.
I told her that Falun Gong practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and that they think of others first. I explained many other facets of the practice and persecution.
I then told her about a 70-year-old practitioner who went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for justice for Falun Gong . She was taken away and beaten by a police officer. The elderly woman gave a towel to the officer so that he could wipe the sweat from his face. The young woman listening to me was moved to tears.
I also spoke of the disasters that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had brought to the Chinese people and the corruption bred by the party that was poisoning the country. The young woman decided to withdraw from the Youth League, one of the CCP organizations, and asked for my help.
Many grassroots civil servants, just like this neighborhood committee staff member, have only heard the Party's propaganda. If I had not gone to the neighborhood committee office because of fear or other human notions, this young staff member might have had to wait a lot longer to hear the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution.
