(Minghui.org) The German newspaper Donaukurier carried several reports on The Art of Zhen Shan Ren exhibition held in St. John's Church, Eichstaett, Bavaria, Germany, from September 7 to 16, 2015. Many people in this small town of 13,000 in southern Germany learned about the exhibition.
Donaukurier is a daily newspaper with a circulation of 85,000. Three days before the exhibit opened, the paper carried an article titled, “Art for Moral Improvement,” that described the exhibition and its paintings.
In a report titled “Moral and Political Message” on September 9, the newspaper mentioned that Hubert Koerper, a board member of the International Society for Human Rights, made a special effort to attend the opening Tuesday evening, coming all the way from Frankfurt.
Mr. Koerper commented, "The persecution of Falun Gong in China meets the definition of genocide."
The newspaper carried a letter to the editor from reader Rudolf Eble on September 14 in response to the “Moral and Political Message” article: “The informative articles on the current exhibition of artworks from the Falun Gong movement would be an ideal opportunity to find out the real politics of the communist nomenklatura in China towards freethinkers.”
“The fact is, since 1999, about 100 million Falun Gong practitioners have become targets of state misuse of power in China: systematic persecution, torture, abuse, or even murder for live organs.”
“What should the democratic states of Europe do about it–and not to be content with just lip service by politicians?”
“The answer must be to do everything humanly possible to rescue 140,000 victims of reprisals. State enterprises should denounce the abuses as intolerable.”
