Local Police Choose to Protect Falun Gong Practitioners

September 19, 2015 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) For over sixteen years, Falun Gong practitioners in China have been resisting the persecution. Many police officers in our area have stopped participating in the suppression, and some have even chosen to protect practitioners.

Police Chief: Practitioners Are Good People

A few years ago, a new chief was appointed to the local police station. He responded to many calls about Falun Gong practitioners from people conditioned to do so by the Communist Party's propaganda, but he never had the practitioners arrested.

In one instance, he drove to a practitioner’s home and said, “This is the first time I've been to your home, but I know you. Someone reported you once before. I drove to where you were and parked. I saw you posting and distributing materials, but pretended I didn’t see you.”

“Today, I want to make friends with you. I am letting you know that this is my first official home visit and also the last. Do you know why? I know Falun Gong practitioners are all good people. Therefore, my rule is not to trouble Falun Gong.”

Officers Refuse to Arrest Practitioners

A while ago, the local 610 Office ordered the police to arrest practitioners on their blacklist.

A local police officer used to persecute practitioners, but they did not hold a grudge against him. They only patiently told him why the persecution was happening and how Falun Gong is far from how it's portrayed in the government's propaganda. They explained that practitioners do their best to live by the principles of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”

When the officer was ordered to arrest practitioners in his patrol area, he refused. "They are good people. Why should we arrest them? I won’t do it."

His superior replied, "If you don't want to, I'll find others to do it." The officer warned the practitioners ahead of time, and they were able to avoid arrest.
