Police Harass Plaintiffs for Suing Jiang Zemin

August 28, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) The Boye County Post Office intercepted many complaints from Falun Gong practitioners against Jiang Zemin, the former Communist Party leader who started the persecution of Falun Gong, during the last two months. Officers from the Li Police Department and affiliated police stations picked up the complaints and harassed many plaintiffs.

Elderly Woman Stands Firm

Three policemen led by Yang Bing went to the home of Ms. Cui Shumei to harass her. They tried to force her to sign a withdrawal form of her complaint.

“I sued Jiang, so what,” said Ms. Cui. “Because of the persecution he launched, I was illegally sentenced to three years in prison. My land was covered with weeds. Yang Bing, you know what happened.” Yang Bing kept silent.

Another policeman said, “Just sign your name over here. Then that is it.”

“No way! I am an over 60-year-old village woman, but I am still able to do farm work, housework, and anything else that needs to be done. If I were not practicing Falun Gong, I would not have such good health. Yang Bing, you know it, right?”

They then asked Ms. Cui whether she knew any of the people on their list of complainants and if she could help obtain their signatures on withdrawal forms. Ms. Cui answered, “Nobody will sign your paper.”

The police then left.

Similar Harassment Experienced by Plaintiffs for Suing Jiang

Li County police officers examined the intercepted filings and compiled identification information about practitioners from Daizhuang Village. The officers went to the village and questioned the plaintiffs about their lawsuits.

Tang Jianxue, a Communist Party instructor from the Li Police Station, harassed many practitioners and videotaped them.

Wang Zhen, a local official, called Ms. Feng Wenzhen's husband and son and demanded to know the whereabouts of Ms. Feng, who is one of the plaintiffs.
