Beipiao Police Harass Practitioners Who Filed Criminal Complaints Against Jiang Zemin

August 22, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) Beipiao City Police Department and Domestic Security Division officers continue to harass and arrest Falun Gong practitioners who have filed criminal complaints against the former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin.

The police have interrogated practitioners, ransacked their homes, and confiscated personal belongings. One practitioner was detained for 15 days.

Mr. Huang Junyi was arrested on June 28, 2015. The police asked him who wrote the complaints for him, and when Mr. Huang responded with “a lawyer,” the police asked him for the lawyer's name. Mr. Huang refused to answer and was detained for 15 days.

Ms. Liu Fengxiang and Ms. Wei Shuhua were interrogated by the police on July 12. The police asked them about the complaints they wrote and who helped him. They forced them to sign a written statement regarding the interrogation and then proceeded to ransack their homes and confiscate Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. The police arrested the two practitioners just two days later and held them for 10 days at the Xidayingzi Detention Center.

Mr. Li Shulin's home was ransacked on July 13. The police confiscated 40 copies of Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. They took him to the police station and questioned him for four hours. They tried to find out why he filed the complaints and who helped him write them. Mr. Li told them that practitioners are suing Jiang because he ordered the persecution of Falun Gong. Mr. Li was released at 5:00 p.m.

Mr. Li Bo was summoned to the police department on July 14 and arrested. His home was ransacked and he was detained for 10 days.

More than a dozen police officers went to Ms. Li Shuzhi's home on July 31. They showed her the legal complaints that she and her husband filed with the Supreme Procuratorate a short while before. The police ransacked the couple's home and confiscated Falun Gong books and other materials. Ms. Li was taken to the police department and released that afternoon.

The Beipiao Police Department has been working with the Beipiao Post Office since July 31 to prohibit the mailing of legal complaints to the Supreme Procuratorate and the Supreme Court.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other members of the Politburo Standing Committee and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. Even more have been tortured for their belief and many have been killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Communist regime established an extralegal security organization – the 610 Office – on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows its citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
