(Minghui.org) About 2,000 practitioners joined a march in Taipei, Taiwan on July 18, 2015, in support of the recent lawsuits against Jiang Zemin for persecuting Falun Gong. Starting at Xinyi Square near Taipei 101, this four-mile march passed by the Xinyi Commercial Center, the Taipei City Government compound, and terminated at the Presidential Office Building on Ketagalan Boulevard.
Zhang Jinhua, director of the Falun Dafa Association in Taiwan, speaks at the event.
Zhang Jinhua, director of the Falun Dafa Association in Taiwan, said this march was taking place right before the 16th anniversary of Jiang Zemin starting the persecution. “More than 80,000 criminal complaints have been filed against Jiang. We are holding this event here today hoping that more people will join this effort to help innocent Falun Gong practitioners and bring Jiang to justice.”
The Divine Land Marching Band leads the march
Practitioners are from all walks of life.
Tourists from China intently watched the march from inside their tour buses. Some took photos, and some read the banners, “China is Not the Chinese Communist Party (CCP),” “End the CCP and Stop the Persecution,” and “Over 200 Million People Have Quit the CCP Organizations.”
Many tourists and residents gave thumbs-ups to the march. “Bravo! Great!” one of them loudly exclaimed. “No more CCP!” another pedestrian shouted.
Hong Wei and her family of three were touring Taiwan. She videotaped the entire march. “Here you have freedom and such a grand parade—everything is amazing!” As a Falun Gong practitioner in China, she witnessed how practitioners were arrested and tortured for their belief. “I know the day will come for the persecution to end. I will continue practicing Falun Gong and telling others about it as well as the persecution,” she said.
Mr. Li and his wife from Nanjing said to a practitioner, “We've never seen anything like this before. The march is amazing.”
Mr. Zhou, a Taipei resident, said, “We Chinese believe 'good is rewarded with good' and 'evil meets evil'. Jiang should have been sued a long time ago for his bad deeds.” When he learned that the suppression had continued for 16 years, and it involved live organ harvesting, Mr. Zhou was almost speechless, “Jiang is really bad. This atrocity must end immediately.”
Mr. Zhang, a practitioner who started 14 years ago, explained why he came to the event. “We are here to tell people that the suppression against Falun Gong is groundless.” He said Falun Gong improves mind and body, and is beneficial to society at large. “It is Jiang who started this tragedy and he has to face it.”
