Bank Employee Wang Xinyu Sues Former Chinese Dictator for Illegal Imprisonment, Torture

June 06, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent in China

(Minghui.org) Wang Xinyu, a man imprisoned and tortured for practicing Falun Gong, has initiated legal action against the former Chinese dictator who ordered the violent suppression of the spiritual practice, which continues to this day.

Mr. Wang charged Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party, with illegal imprisonment, torture, deprivation of his constitutional right to religious belief, among numerous other abuses.

Mr. Wang sent his complaint to the Supreme People's Procuratorate on May 22, 2015 via EMS, a mail service that provides confirmation of receipt.

Wang Xinyu's Own Account of Imprisonment, Torture for His Belief

I was put under house arrest for 24 hours by my superior at the Zhangjiakou branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China on July 20, 1999. He tried to force me to give up my belief in Falun Gong and give up my right to petition the government.

I went to Beijing to petition the central government and protest the persecution of Falun Gong on December 24, 2000. I was arrested and transferred from Beijing Qianmen Police Station to Zhangjiakou City Hongqilou Police Station. Because I refused to give up my belief and my right to petition, I was sent to Xuanhua Detention Center for 36 days. During my detention, my home was searched, and my family was extorted 20,000 yuan.

On May 8, 2002, when I was in Shisanli District in Zhangjiakou City, I was arrested for exposing the persecution of Falun Gong by officers from the No. 3 Criminal Division of Qiaodong Police Department. I refused to cooperate during the interrogation, so they cuffed me to a metal chair for 9 days. I went on a hunger strike to protest the abuse, and they force-fed me 6 times.

Later, they transferred me to Qiaodong District Brainwashing Center. I went on a hunger strike for over 100 days. The staff at the center tortured me by binding me to a metal bed and force-feeding me. My blood pressure dropped as low as 40, and I weighed just over 40 kg (~88 lb).

Furthermore, Qiaodong District Procuratorate filed false charges against me. Half a year later, I was transferred to Zhangjiakou City Detention Center, where I was forced to do slave labor. In 2003, Qiaodong District Court sentenced me to three years in prison, during which I lost my job at the bank.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
