(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Jinxian, 60, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yiliang County of Kunming City, Yunnan Province. She was arrested on May 22, 2015, at home by the police from the domestic security division.
The arrest took place only 44 days after her latest release from prison.
She has been arrested many times for practicing Falun Gong. She was sentenced twice to prison for a total of seven years.
Ms. Wang and her husband depend on their daughter for financial support. Therefore, they applied for the minimum living allowance. They were told that the application would be approved on May 21, 2015, but only if Ms. Wang gave up her belief in Falun Gong. Ms. Wang refused and stopped the application process.
Two plainclothes officers and two other police officers came to her home and ransacked it on the morning of May 22, 2015. Although they could not find anything, they arrested her anyway.
Ms. Wang's family went to the local police station on May 27 and were told that she was detained in the Kunming City Detention Center, and that police from the domestic security division were in charge of the arrest. No further information was provided because the case was still under investigation.
The family got the run around at the police department, notably by Gu Shaojun, the head of the 610 Office, and Fu Guofei, the head of the 610 Office General Administration Office. These officials gave different stories, which essentially lead to everyone pointing fingers at the other.
In the end, Gu said, “You think we will release her because you ask for it! You are too naive! It's political!”
Ms. Wang was arrested on April 9, 2012 for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at a local farmers market. She was secretly sentenced nine months later to three years in prison, and detained in the No. 2 Prison. During that time, family visits were forbidden. She was released on April 8, 2015.
She was arrested at home in 2007 because she was reported to police for practicing Falun Gong. She was secretly sentenced again, this time to four years in prison, and she was detained at the No. 2 Prison of Yunnan Province. She was released on April 22, 2011.
Ms. Wang's daughter sent a letter on May 28, 2015, with the following information, including details about the latest arrest, to the the Kunming City Detention Center and those responsible for her arrest and detention.
She demanded the immediate release of her mother and stated that she would sue all those involved in the persecution of her mother:
Guards at the Yiliang Detention Center slapped my mom's face four times. They confiscated her underwear and toilet paper for refusing to sign the detention documents on arrival.
My mother had no money, no bed covers, no underwear, and no toilet paper for the first 10 days at Yiliang. Furthermore, she was not allowed to wear her own shoes.
Because my mom refused to be brainwashed, she was put under restrictions. For example, she was allowed to only drink one cup of water a day. Besides, she was forced to copy the prison regulations for more than 10 hours for 8 months.
Neither was she allowed to take a shower nor change clothes for the first two months there. Even though it was cold, she was not allowed to wear warm clothes. She then developed severe frostbite on her hands and feet.
She also had to watch television programs that slandered Falun Gong, and she was forced to sit upright on a small stool for more than 10 hours over and over. Except for using the restroom, she was not allowed to stand up during such times. She was deprived of sleep, not allowed to write letters to her family, or allowed family visits.
Local police later harassed my mom after she was released. I accompanied her on March 22, 2011, to the local police station to renew her residence card, changing it from the prison location to her local address. However, the local police refused to renew her residence card because she still practiced Falun Gong.
Without the residence card, my mom has been unable to get her new identification card, which is often required for many things including even the purchase of a train ticket. In this way, she has been deprived of the freedom to travel.
My mom has been illegally sentenced twice to prison. We were not informed of her trial dates, and we were only informed after she was sentenced. We were also deprived of the right to hire a defense lawyer.
As of late, “ruling the country according to law” has been stressed by the government. All officials in the legal community have to give an oath to uphold the Constitution.
My mom has not committed any crime or done anything illegal. The way she has been treated over and over is entirely unlawful.
I demand mom's immediate release. Stop the slave labor and torture of her. I demand visiting rights of my mom at the Kunming Detention Center, so I can see that she is alright.
I will sue Jiang Zemin who holds sole responsibility for starting the persecution of Falun Gong.
If my mom is not released immediately, I will file charges against all those who were and are involved in my mom's persecution and arrests.
Government officials should act according to the law and not violate the Chinese Constitution and existing Chinese Law.
