Judge Acknowledges Falun Gong Practitioner's Innocence, Sentences Her Anyway

June 02, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Maolian was recently given three-and-half years for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is now serving time in Zhangqiu Prison in Shandong Province.

Only a few months back, a judge admitted during her trial, “We never said she was wrong or guilty.” The villager from Fushan Township of Weifang City was still sent to prison, even though she was merely exercising her constitutional right to believe in and share information about Falun Gong.

Ms. Li's child and her 80-year-old mother-in-law have had to fend for themselves since her arrest last October. They are extremely concerned about her wellbeing in the prison.
