(Minghui.org) Heavily influenced by the communist regime's propaganda inciting hatred of Falun Gong, some people in China are prejudiced against the practice and will not listen when practitioners bring up the subject.
I would like to share another practitioner's experience that may help us when we approach such prejudiced yet predestined sentient beings.
An elderly practitioner recently tried to talk to an old couple about Falun Gong. As soon as she mentioned the practice, the husband cut her off, “Do you get a retirement pension?” “Yes.” “Then why are you doing this at your age? Why not just stay home and relax? How does it benefit you to promote Falun Gong? Don't look for trouble.” The practitioner didn't know how to respond.
She shared the incident with us after a Fa-study. Another practitioner said, “Next time you run into someone like that, just tell the person, 'You're right. I wish I could stay home and relax, but I can't do that. If I don't tell you what I know, you will one day blame me for not saving you. I don't want that to happen, so I have to tell you this.'”
A few days later, the elderly practitioner shared that she ran into another person who didn't want to listen. The person interrupted her and said, “Just save it. Many people have tried to tell me about Falun Gong, but I don't believe it.”
This time, the practitioner knew just what to say. She asked, “Do you know why I want to talk to you about Falun Gong? It would be nice if I could just sit at home, watch TV, and enjoy a cup of tea. Why am I risking my life to do this? What's in it for me? Nothing. I am doing this for your sake. Our paths were predestined to cross.” That changed the person's attitude, and he eventually quit the Party.
The practitioner added, “It's wonderful to study the Fa with fellow practitioners. Doing what Master says is how you gain wisdom.”
