(Minghui.org) A Falun Gong practitioner was arrested on April 13, 2015, at the Licheng District Courthouse and taken to a detention center.
Judge Wang of the Licheng District Court had called Ms. Liu Xinmei and said she had to pick up a notice regarding her hearing that was scheduled for April 17.
When Ms. Liu and her daughter arrived at the courthouse on April 13, the police were waiting inside. They arrested her and took her to the Jinan City Detention Center.
Ms. Liu’s daughter said, “You told my mom to come pick up a notice, but there wasn't one. You lied to us, and now my mom is being detained! She didn’t do anything wrong. What you did will bring you karma!”
Wang replied, “If I had told you that I planned to arrest her, would you have come?”
According to Ms. Liu’s lawyer, the court illegally sentenced Ms. Liu and another practitioner, Ms. Lin Xiaoyan, on April 17, 2015.
Ms. Liu Xinmei and three other practitioners—Ms. Lin Xiaoyan, Ms. Chai Diyun, and Ms. Xu Yanjiang—were arrested on January 18 2014, for hanging up banners on December 31, 2013, exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.
The police filed cases against the practitioners twice, but the Procuratorate sent them back both times. The police filed their case again on November 21, 2014, after receiving orders from the provincial 610 Office.
Prosecutor Li Luping filed a case against Ms. Liu and Ms. Lin on December 30, 2014, with the Licheng District Court. A trial was held on February 3, 2015. The prosecutor could not prove that the practitioners had committed a crime, so the trial ended without reaching a verdict.
