(Minghui.org) Today, May 13, is World Falun Dafa Day. It is also the birthday of Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa. I want to thank Master for giving me a new life.
I had been deeply deceived by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I had been party secretary of our town for 26 years when the CCP launched the unprecedented persecution against Falun Dafa on July 20,1999.
Because I feared what this particular political movement might bring, I blindly carried out my superior's orders and committed many sinful acts. I kicked my wife to force her to stop practicing Dafa. I also slandered the founder of Falun Dafa, whom practitioners call Master, maligned Dafa, and stepped on Dafa books.
The principle of the universe is everlasting and everyone will pay for his own karma. Because of karmic retribution, my legs were frequently swollen during the past few years and no medicine could bring relief.
My wife often explained that I was receiving karmic retribution during the past 16 years. She also showed me pictures of a Guizhou stone with words that predicted “The Chinese Communist Party Will Perish.” Gradually, my attitude toward Falun Dafa changed.
I finally saw the light when I read the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. I realized that I had gone astray, and I would suffer severe consequences if I did not sever my ties with the CCP.
I immediately quit the CCP and sent a solemn declaration to the Minghui website. I declared that everything I have said and done against Master Li and Dafa was null and void. I would firmly safeguard and support Falun Dafa going forward.
I felt so relieved and witnessed the extraordinary nature of Falun Dafa.
My bowels bled on June 5, 2012 and I was rushed to a county hospital. The diagnosis confirmed five days later that I had ulcerative gastric cancer. I was transferred to a provincial hospital for surgery and chemotherapy on June 26.
I suffered from intestinal obstruction, anemia, low hemoglobin count, and severe weight loss, and was very weak. I was in despair.
My wife was always calm and took good care of me. She often said to me: “Don't be afraid. You are eliminating karma in order to have a good future. Master will save you as long as you sincerely recite 'Falun Dafa is good' and 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good'.”
I confessed my sins from deep within my heart and sincerely recited these phrases every day. Nearly three years have gone by. My soul and mind were purified. I have regained my health. Also, the swollen legs that had plagued me for more than a decade no longer bother me.
Master, your great benevolence cleansed my sinful soul. You endured my hardship and gave me a new life. I cannot adequately express my gratitude in words. I can only kowtow to you and wish you a happy birthday!
