Everyone at the Detention Center Amazed by My Determination

May 11, 2015 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner from Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) My mother, wife, daughter, and I began to practice Falun Gong in May 1998. The Chinese Communist regime launched the brutal persecution of Falun Gong about a year later, and my wife and I were arrested on December 22, 2006.

I was detained in the Harbin No. 4 Detention Center, and my wife at the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center. Several practitioners were on a hunger strike when I arrived. The guards said that every practitioner refused to eat and so refused to give me any food. I was starving, but no one cared.

I wondered about the effectiveness of this type of protest and thought that maybe I should try something else. I thought about what Master said in “Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference.”

Changing Tactics

I fell asleep and had a very clear dream. I was standing on top of a rainbow. One end of the rainbow ended in a bright path, while the other ended up in a swamp. Many people were submerged in the mud up to their chins, and I tried to rescue them one-by-one.

I woke up, remembered the dream, and began to shout, “Falun Dafa is good! The Tiananmen self-immolation was staged! The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) killed 80 million Chinese! If humankind does not do something about it, Heaven will. Heaven will eliminate the CCP! Quit the CCP and save your life!”

The inmates in my cell were shocked and tried to stop me. But I continued to shout over and over again. Inmates in other cells heard me and started to shout, too. I shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” They shouted, “Falun Dafa is good. It really is!” I shouted, “Heaven will eliminated the CCP!” They shouted, “Eliminate the CCP!” Some inmates were clapping and laughing. The entire detention center was in an uproar.

Armed guards appeared, two in front of each cell, holding electric batons and guns. The deputy head on duty was very worried. He called the detention center head, whose surname is Li. I continued to shout.

Li showed up around 10 p.m. He looked at me through the cell door but said nothing. He told the deputy head that nobody was allowed to open the door and then he left.

I kept shouting for about another hour. Li returned and brought food. He said, “You must be very tired. You haven't eaten anything for several days. I brought you some snacks. You have shouted everything you wanted to shout. Let's stop for today. Everyone needs to go to sleep.” I was indeed very tired, and had lost my voice, so I said “Ok.”

The inmates in my cell were amazed. They said, “What is your association with the head? We were all so scared. We thought he would torture you to death, and we would be in trouble too.”

Righteous belief and determination brought about a good outcome.
