(Minghui.org) I saw an elderly man sitting in front of my building complex when I got home from the supermarket in the summer of 2013 and spoke to him. He was visiting his son and grandson.
I asked if he had heard about the importance of withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. When he said he had not, I told him the Chinese regime was corrupt and about persecution of Falun Dafa. He agreed to quit the Young Pioneers using his real name.
Towards the end of our conversation, I saw two police officers heading our way. I quickly sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate any bad elements that might be controlling them.
Just then, I saw a bald, elderly man I had talked to at the supermarket walk by. I remembered talking to him about quitting the CCP, but he refused to listen to me. It occurred to me that he had followed me home and reported me to the authorities.
The older of the two officers came up to me and urged me to go home. I wondered why he didn't arrest me.
I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1998. After the persecution began in 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice in 2000 and was arrested. The local police were afraid that I would try to go to Beijing again on National Day, so the police chief and that older officer came to my house. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and took me to the station. They interrogated me, but I did not cooperate.
At the newly established brainwashing center, I was not afraid of being detained or persecuted and openly talked to the staff about Falun Dafa. They filed my case with the police department, but I was released in the end. I had strong righteous thoughts at the time, so Master protected me.
After I was released, I went to the police station several times to demand that my Dafa books be returned. The older officer eventually returned them to me.
I ran into that same officer a few years later, and we began talking. I told him that I used to be a member of the CCP and had retired from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. I mentioned that my health improved and all of my illnesses disappeared after I began practicing Falun Dafa.
I told him how corrupt the regime was and about the crimes it had committed, including the campaigns that caused the deaths of millions of Chinese and the Tiananmen Square massacre. I encouraged him to quit the Party to protect himself, and he agreed.
The younger of the two officers had called me in 2011 and told me to report to the police station to “have a talk.” I asked Master to help me handle the situation wisely, and told him that I did not do anything wrong, so there was no need for me to report to him. I also said that he should understand the true situation of Falun Dafa and the persecution after all these years. He hesitated for a moment and hung up.
When the two officers came to look for me after getting a report from the elderly man, I believe the middle-aged officer helped the younger one to do the right thing and protect practitioners.
