Drug addicts cannot free themselves from addiction and they do not have a future. Abandoned by their social circles, drug addicts trouble and disappoint their loved ones. I felt I was living like a ghost, and while I was able to see others, they couldn't see me. We lived in two different worlds.
I was born in the 1960s and was in rehabilitation and imprisoned many times because of my 20 years of drug abuse. I held no hope that I could quit, as I tried with the help of my parents, sisters, wife, and children. I was ashamed because I gave my family nothing but pain despite their endless care and their financial and spiritual support.
My family gave it one more try. My mother and sister, who are Falun Dafa practitioners, convinced me to learn Falun Dafa and read Zhuan Falun. We read from the book together three times a day every day.
I surprisingly noticed that there were no drug withdrawal symptoms after about three to four days, and I got rid of all drug substitutes on the fifth day. I no longer felt the need for drugs – it was quick and easy.
I couldn't believe it at first. I had experienced drug withdrawal symptoms so often, and every time, I went back to taking drugs again. An addict of 20 years took only 5 days to quit and without a painful struggle because of Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa has changed my life, gave me hope and a new perspective on life. I feel that my past life is fading and I have become a normal man again.
The more I read the Falun Dafa books, the clearer I am able to see my life and future. It is Falun Dafa that has turned me from a drug addict without a soul, back into a real human being.
