(Minghui.org) I would like to share some of my experiences and understandings about making truth-clarifying materials.
Our Fa-study group made a batch of booklets last week, which I planned to distribute in a residential subdivision, but I always got stuck doing something else. On Friday, I said to myself, “I have to pass out the booklets before I do anything else.”
So I went to the subdivision. The strange thing was that every building was locked, and no one opened the gates even after I rang the bells. This had never happened before. Usually someone would be going in or out of the building, and leave the gate open for me, or the gates would be closed but unlocked. Although I felt it was strange, I could not figure out what I had done wrong. So I went home.
At home I found that the edges of some booklets were not cut evenly. I regretted that I hadn't checked this beforehand—it was irresponsible of me. I then flipped through the materials. The result shocked me, as many booklets had problems. Some of the pictures and texts were blurry and chaotic, some pages were missing, and the covers of a few booklets did not match the contents.
I almost cried. How can we pass out such poor quality materials? I figured out that this was why I had encountered such difficulties getting into the buildings.
Out of 150 booklets, 97 had major problems. I recycled them, but kept a few that had minor problems. I thought that only professionals would be able to see the minor problems. But in a dream that night, Master told me that even minor problems should not be ignored.
I had another dream the next night. My daytime job is quality assurance in manufacturing. We have lockers for our uniforms. My colleagues' lockers are all clean and with locks, but mine was shabby and without a lock.
As I put on my uniform to start my quality assurance work, I saw some keys of various sizes. There were also some golden keys with delicate colors.
I realized that this was a hint from Master, telling me that I need to carefully check all of the materials because they are keys to people's hearts. I told fellow practitioners about my experience and we went through all the booklets we had made the week before. We found ten more with issues.
The next step was to pick out the good pages in the misprinted booklets, and re-use them. It was a time-consuming process, during which time I slacked off and complained about the carelessness of fellow practitioners. But whenever I had unrighteous thoughts, I was able catch them right away and eliminate them.
The practitioner in charge of printing materials is an elderly lady. She has strong righteous thoughts and works really hard. She sleeps only about three hours per night, and spends most of her time on Fa study and producing materials. She had a family emergency the previous week, so she had to print four weeks worth of materials in a few days. That was why she didn't check the quality of the booklets. I told myself that I should consider her difficulties, and quietly compensate for her mistakes.
Here I would like to remind all fellow practitioners that we should do our best to ensure the quality of truth-clarification materials, because it is directly related to whether people can be saved.
A good truth-clarification material is the final product of many practitioners' efforts, from writing, graphic design, printing, to distribution. If the quality is low, it wastes practitioners' time, and hinders the effect of saving sentient beings.
Let us all remember Master's teaching in “Fa Teaching on World Falun Dafa Day,”
“You have to give your very best in whatever you are supposed to do, and it will go well.”
