Former Henan Engineer Faces Another Trial

November 03, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Henan Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Aiping, 57, a former engineer from Henan Province, was arrested on February 17, 2015. She was then detained in the Anyang Detention Center for more than seven months.

Her case was transferred by the Wenfeng District Procuratorate to the Wenfeng District Court in July. She is expected to be tried in the Wenfeng District Court soon.

Ms. Li lived alone before her arrest. Local practitioners could not find her after the Chinese New Year 2015, until a relative of hers confirmed at the end of April that she had been arrested on February 29, 2015. Police ransacked her home after the arrest. No further details are known at this time.

Brief Recap of Past Persecution

After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) initiated the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Li went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice. She was arrested, detained, taken to a brainwashing center, and forced into labor. Her husband divorced her.

She was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center on August 2, 2004. Gao Shukui, the former CCP director in the Sanitation Department where Ms. Li worked, collaborated with the district and municipal 610 Offices to make sure she was taken to a brainwashing center.

There, Ms. Li went on a hunger strike and was released on medical parole because of deteriorating health.

After her release, she was placed under house arrest. Wang Yuanshen from the city 610 Office assigned six officers to monitor her home, prompting her to leave home. Gao Shukui then published a public notice that she was fired.

Ms. Li was arrested again in 2008 and given three years of forced labor at the Shibalihe Woman's Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City. She was tortured for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. She went on a hunger strike to protest the mistreatment and was released one year earlier as a result.
