(Minghui.org) The cancellation of my trial shows the power of telling people about Falun Gong and the communist regime's persecution of the practice, and what can be accomplished when practitioners cooperate well.
I was reported to police and arrested in November 2013 for distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Officers interrogated me to find out the source of my materials. They had to release me the next day on medical parole because my health appeared to be critical.
Police then submitted my case to the prosecutor with fabricated evidence and false testimony. They planned to try me in court.
I am 65 years old, and I began to practice Falun Gong in 1996. During the onset of the persecution in 1999, I was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment and forced labor.
The current arrest and indictment made me fearful. I was afraid that I would be imprisoned again, as my previous incarceration still haunted me. I feared that my family, having barely recovered from my past imprisonment, would suffer again.
I was afraid that my fellow practitioners would lose respect for me. They might attribute my arrest to my lacking righteous thoughts. In addition, I could not bear to fall behind the progress of Fa-rectification.
Some practitioners suggested that I leave home and hide. However, I knew that the trial was arranged by the old forces, and that I should negate it. I admit that I was not diligent in my cultivation, but that does not justify the old forces' plot against me. I am a Falun Gong practitioner; I will be rectified solely by the Fa and not the old forces.
My righteous thoughts were further strengthened by Master's teachings:
“The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts.” (“Drive Out Interference,” Essentials for Further Advancement II)
“I'm Li Hongzhi's disciple, I don't want other arrangements or acknowledge them"--then they won't dare to do that. So it can all be resolved. I then decided to find ways to resolve the persecution against me, rather than evade it.
I first studied the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts. While doing so, I could sense that Master was always by my side.
When I sent forth righteous thoughts one day, I heard loud thunder and roaring wind, and saw lightning that looked like fire falling from heaven. It sounded as if there was a conflict in the heavens. My righteous thoughts joined with nature's power, wiping out all evil elements in other dimensions. I felt embraced by a powerful energy field.
Internally, I was cleansed and became luminous after a long period of sending forth righteous thoughts. My brain and each of my cells were immersed in purity. I felt that nothing could shake me.
Local practitioners discussed what could be done to prevent my trial. We agreed that I should let go of my fear and take this opportunity to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to the relevant parties.
I hired a lawyer. On a number of occasions, he told officers that practicing Falun Gong does not violate any of China's laws, while the persecution itself is unlawful. The responses from the officers were positive.
Several practitioners visited local police and prosecutors to explain the truth about Falun Gong, but they refused to listen. The practitioners then called them and sent text messages. Some posted informational sheets on public bulletin boards. Meanwhile, many practitioners sent righteous thoughts.
Our efforts soon bore fruit, as the officers became friendlier.
“We arrested you because we were ordered to do it,” said one police officer.
I told him not to persecute Falun Gong even under orders, as he would ultimately be held accountable for his actions.
We left informational materials in the appropriate places for those who avoided us.
The local court scheduled my case for trial. We went to the court officials and emphasized that the practice of Falun Gong was legal and that the local police station violated the law by fabricating evidence and false testimony.
I wrote many letters to the prosecutors, the judge, and court officials, telling them about the health benefits Falun Gong had brought me. I warned them not persecute Falun Gong practitioners and cited that high-ranking Chinese Communist Party officials are being prosecuted in the name of anti-corruption, but their convictions are really examples of karmic retribution for persecuting Falun Gong.
We communicated with the officials with great patience, and practitioners cooperated well with one another. As a result, we improved in cultivation together.
Just several days before the trial, the court notified my family that the trial was canceled and the charges dropped. This is the first court case against a Falun Gong practitioner that was canceled in my province. This was accomplished only because Master was beside us the entire time and because practitioners cooperated.
