Snapshot of Falun Gong Practitioners Whose Lawsuits Against Jiang Zemin Were Received by Minghui on October 19-20, 2015

October 31, 2015 |

(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin for instigating the persecution of Falun Gong and causing them great harm and tremendous suffering during the past 16 years. The number of lawsuits being filed continues to climb.

The Minghui website receives copies of these criminal complaints from many practitioners daily. In this report, we present a snapshot of four practitioners whose copies of lawsuits were received by Minghui on October 19-20, 2015.

These lawsuits are mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate, which are required to process all criminal complaints filed by citizens, as of a recent ruling by the Supreme People's Court.

Unrestrained Brutality

The lawsuits highlighted below were filed by an engineer, a physician, a farmer and a dentist.

Ms. Qi Shuyan quoted the words of one policeman who used his belt to whip her: “Don't blame me for doing this to you. This is my job.”

Another practitioner's husband, who went insane from torture, repeatedly murmured, “The government doesn't let us wear clothes or eat.”

A labor camp guard once shouted at Mr. Zhang Guangbao while applying a stretching torture on him: “If you don't give up [Falun Gong], there are only two paths before you: die physically or collapse mentally.”

Overview of Selected Criminal Complaints

1: Ms. Jiang Jie (姜杰)

Profession: Assistant Mechanical EngineerHometown: Fushun City, Liaoning Province

Key Facts:Ms. Jiang Jie, 63, was arrested three times and sent to forced labor twice. Police ransacked her home five times.

Following her second arrest on October 30, 1999, she was given two years of forced labor, which was later extended by 50 days.

Her third arrest on September 8, 2006 resulted in her second forced labor term.

During one raid on her home, police arrested her husband Mr. Chen Dongping and took away their 13-year-old daughter. The child resisted, but several officers dragged her to a police car and tore her pants during the struggle.

Ms. Jiang's mother passed away under the long-term stress and worry. Her husband was persecuted to death on August 12, 2006.

In Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, Ms. Jiang was tortured and denied family visits. Guards used electric batons to strike and shock her neck, arms, and back. She couldn't lie on her back while sleeping for more than a month.

Guards also instigated detainees to split her legs forcefully. One time, they stuffed a dirty sock into her mouth while splitting her legs until she lost control of her bowels.

At the end of November 2006, four policemen used a stretching torture on her for ten hours. She was confined in an isolated cell three times and handcuffed to a bed frame at all hours of the day.

When Ms. Jiang protested by going on a hunger strike, she was tied to the bed corners and violently force-fed, causing a perforation in her stomach. She had to have surgery and was made to pay for the medical expenses herself.

Current Situation:Ms. Jiang Jie is now free.

One time, a guard cuffed one of her hands over her shoulder and the other hand up from her lower back for three hours. This torture was called “The Big Handcuff” and was used repeatedly on her at the labor camp.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, police and government officials have continually harassed Ms. Li and her family.

In winter of 2001, police officers broke into her home and arrested Ms. Li and her husband. Officers tortured her husband to insanity before releasing him. They had him stand barefoot in snow, used two thick sticks to beat him until the sticks broke, detained him in a small metal cage that didn't allow an adult to either stand or squat down, and subjected him to other abuse.

Meanwhile, Ms. Li was given three years of forced labor, leaving their two sons (10 and 7 years old) alone at home.

Ms. Li's husband became lost four times in seven years. One time, he was found more than 100 miles away from home. He was black and blue all over and couldn't recognize his family, but repeatedly murmured, “The government doesn't let us wear clothes or eat.” He went missing again in 2009 and never came back.

Ms. Li brought up her sons on her own. On December 17, 2015, when she was preparing quilts for her son's marriage, several policemen raided her home and took her to a detention center.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
