(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 1 Falun Gong practitioner was subjected to mistreatment during detention, at least 16 were illegally arrested and detained, 5 were sentenced to prison, 3 were secretly tried, 1 faces trial, and the whereabouts of 1 is unknown.
Ms. Chen Yulian was arrested for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on October 1, 2015. She was held in the Zhanjiang City Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Jia Shoufang and her mother were arrested on September 25, 2015. They had gone to the Yantai Development Zone Management Committee to request a permit to visit their family member Ms. Jia Shoufen, who is detained in the Yantai City Detention Center for practicing Falun Gong. They were released that night.
Ms. Wang Xiangju was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on October 1, 2015.
Ms. Shang was arrested on October 3, 2015.
Ms. Wang Liqiong was arrested on the morning of September 7, 2015. Chen Lun, director of the Sujia Town Police Station, and Gao Song, director of the Sujia Town Comprehensive Management Office, ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books. She was released in the afternoon.
Ms. Zhao Hua was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong in late September, 2015. She is now in the Pixian Detention Center.
Ms. Hou Chengxiang was arrested for handing out Falun Gong fliers on October 6, 2015. She is held in the Qiantangjianglu Police Station, Qingdao Development Zone.
Ms. Zhou Fengmai and Ms. Zhang Yuxiu were arrested by officers from the Liyang Police Station, Xun County. They are detained in the Hebi Detention Center.
Ms. Cai was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong by officers from the Balitai Police Station on October 6, 2015.
Ms. Wu Tingfeng was arrested on July 21, 2015. Her whereabouts is unknown.
Mr. Deng Hui was arrested on October 6, 2015. Police and agents from the 610 Office ransacked his home and put him in criminal detention.
Ms. Liu Fangxiang, Ms. Guo Xinwen, and Mr. Liu Baiying were detained in the Yangliuchong Detention Center for two months, violating the legal detention period.

Three local residents from Jilin City were secretly tried on September 11 for practicing and spreading information about Falun Gong.
The local authorities attempted numerous times to get the practitioners to fire their lawyers and use court-appointed lawyers instead. When the practitioners refused to comply, the court officials used excuses to prevent the defense lawyers from reviewing the case files and resorted to delaying tactics to put the cases on hold.
Even though the trial eventually was held this September, none of the practitioners' families or lawyers were notified beforehand.
Ms. Deng Xiaobo, Mr. Li Dequan, and his brother Mr. Li Dexiang remain detained.
Five local residents in Zibo were sentenced on September 11, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Mr. Dai Dongwu was given three-and-half years, while Ms. Gong Junling, Mr. Wei Qirong, and Ms. Sun Liju were each given three years. Ms. Zhang Yuzhen was given three years of probation.
Mr. Zhao Wenguang, a stone mason, was arrested on May 28, 2015, for using social media to spread information about lawsuits against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. He was scheduled to stand trail in late October.
According to his family and lawyers, his health deteriorated during his detention. He lost a lot of weight and experienced an irregular heart beat. The police, however, refused to release Mr. Zhao on medical parole.
Mr. Zhao's wife requested a delay in the court proceedings, because her parents-in-law need her because of upcoming hospital treatments in late October. Judge Wang Danping declined her request and set her husband's trial for October 28.
