Talking to People about the Persecution in a Detention Center

January 27, 2015 |   By a practitioner from China

(Minghui.org) A couple of years ago, three practitioners and I were arrested because we practice Falun Gong. After we were taken to a detention center, five other practitioners were put into our cell. We then began reciting the Fa, doing the exercises, and sending forth righteous thoughts together.

We told everyone we could about the persecution, including the guards and police officers.

Influencing Everyone

The people that were detained with us were arrested for different reasons. Some were arrested because they appealed for their human rights; others were refugees from Vietnam. The Vietnamese refugees were especially miserable. They had been detained for years and did not know when they would be sent back. They had no money or winter coats.

We decided to provide them with funds after we were released. They were very grateful and said, “Falun Gong practitioners are so good. We will start practicing when we get home.” One of them even said, “I want to learn it now.” Another asked, “I was a member of a communist organization. Could you please help me withdraw from it?”

One morning someone said, “The Falun Gong practitioners are great!” Another said, “Their exercises look so nice. I want to practice with them. At first I thought the time would pass slowly because I would miss my family and my children. Being with Falun Gong practitioners has made me feel much better. I enjoy staying with them.”

Unconditional Care

A young lady asked me to sing a song written by a Dafa practitioner. She had fought with her boyfriend and lost her baby. Nobody in her family knew she had been arrested, so there was nobody to look after her. Some people looked down on her because her boyfriend was a married man, but I took care of her as if she were my own daughter.

When it was cold in the cell, I gave her my quilt and asked a guard to give her another one. At first, the guard refused. I told her, “We are all women. No matter what position you are in, you should first be a good person.” The guard then gave her an extra quilt, and the girl was very touched.

She visited me after she was released. Her mother also called to thank me. The young lady said, “All four of us in our family withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I will be a good person from now on, and I will marry a good person.”

Some other young ladies were arrested because they appealed after being treated unfairly. They were the only ones who refused to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

One day I saw them in a washroom that had no monitors, so I decided to speak with them. “You know it's hard to appeal when you are treated unfairly,” I said. “You also know we Falun Gong practitioners are all good people, but we were also arrested. The CCP is about to fall. If you joined it years ago, you're still part of it. You will only be safe if you withdraw from it."

Two of them withdrew immediately. When another one came in and I asked her to quit as well, one of them who had just withdrawn told her, “Listen to her. We all quit. The CCP is so evil it won't last long.”

Perfect Arrangements

There were always new people coming into our cell, and we realized that Master had arranged for them to be saved. Another practitioner and I always let the new person sleep in the best bed, which was also closest to the heater. We did this even though it was winter and the cell was freezing. The new inmates were all shocked because no one else in the other cells would do that. We told them we were Falun Gong practitioners and that we think of others first.

Everyone in our cell withdrew from the CCP. During the 15 days we were there, more than 20 people quit. Many people greeted us when they saw us. We told everyone to remember that Falun Dafa is good.

When we were released, everyone opened their windows to wave goodbye to us. They were smiling, because they knew they had been saved.
