(Minghui.org) I was deeply moved by an article from the 10th China online Fahui last year. I applied what I learned from the article to clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa and saving sentient beings.
The article is titled “You're Doing Bad Things, but You Don't Realize it” (http://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2013/11/21/143337.html). It describes several incidents of clarifying the truth to police officers. I was deeply touched by one of the stories – “My Answer Satisfies the Police.” I realized that following Master Li's teaching and not cooperating with the police is actually being compassionate to the police.
The author recounted what she told the police: “If I sign this, it will hurt you. Without my signature, the paper is not valid, and you are safe.”
The author said, “I suddenly recalled Master’s teaching and decided not to answer his questions. If I cooperated with him, I might bring harm to him. I told him, 'I listen to my master’s teaching and refuse to comply with any police request.'”
After reading the article, I was deeply struck by the practitioner's understanding of Master's teaching, her being compassionate and responsible to the policeman by not cooperating with him. I shared my understanding with another practitioner.
I was arrested once. When a policeman asked me about cultivation, I clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to him. He then asked me more specific questions. I replied, “In order to protect you, in order to be responsible to you, I cannot answer you.”
He said, “I don't need you to protect me. You have no responsibility for me.” I told him, “You think this way because you are in delusion. Our Master requires us to save all sentient beings. How can I push you away from the Buddha Fa? How can I allow you to do bad things and accumulate karma? I cannot let you commit a crime. I must be responsible for your life.”
He just smiled and seemed to be satisfied with what I said. Finally he wrote something down but didn't let me read or sign it. He just murmured, “You don't sign it.” I was released 9 hours later.
I would like to suggest that fellow practitioners actively participate in the upcoming Fahui and write down your cultivation stories. Your experiences can help other practitioners become more mature. I would also like to suggest that we all read more Fahui articles, which include the essentials of cultivation. If we can draw upon and absorb lessons from them, we will upgrade our own understanding and cultivation level.
