(Minghui.org) I am a teacher in a rural area. The cafeteria and school store in the school I work in was contracted to the teachers collectively. In reality, they were controlled by the school senior officials. The officials tried to demonstrate their integrity and uncorrupted management style. However, they took advantage of the system and pursued their own interest. One day, the teachers couldn't take it anymore and wanted to vote for a new management team to run the cafeteria and school shop.
Prior to voting, the teachers reached a consensus that a Falun Gong practitioner would be the best person for the job, as they are honest, and don't care about fame and personal interest. Thus, I was elected to be in charge of the income and cash payments.
Managing the cafeteria and school shop is not an easy job, and one may get a lot of complaints. Initially I didn't want to do it because of various challenges. But I changed my mind when I realized that, as a Falun Gong practitioner, I should follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and consider others when making decisions.
The major income of the cafeteria and school shop comes from the students. As I am in charge of all the income and cash payments, I have been trying to plan carefully, and purchase food and other items at reasonable prices, but with good quality. Additionally, I made the accounting information available to everyone based on the date. This includes; itemized income, payment details and receipts. The teachers have been very impressed.
The income of the cafeteria and school store has increased nearly 50% after one semester. My colleagues expressed appreciation for my effort, and said that it confirmed their opinion that Falun Gong practitioners are good people.
