Additional Persecution News from China – July 31, 2014 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 3 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Baojin, Ms. Deng Shunhua, Ms. Liu Meirong, and Ms. Li Yingchun were arrested at Ms. Li Yingchun's home by officers from the Qidong County Domestic Security Division and the Baide City Police Station on the evening of May 22, 2014. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, and 3,000 yuan from Ms. Liu. The four practitioners were taken to the Qidong County Detention Center.The Qidong County 610 Office ordered the arrest.

2. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Mr. Luo Shaohua Detained

The Qidong County 610 Office ordered officers from the Qidong County Domestic Security Division and the Fengshiyan Town Police Station to arrest Mr. Luo Shaohua on the evening of May 2, 2014. They confiscated all of Mr. Luo's Falun Gong books and approximately 10,000 yuan. He was later taken to the Qidong County Detention Center.

3. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Mr. Fan Shiqing Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Mr. Fan Shiqing was arrested and taken to the Shuangxing Brainwashing Center in Hailong Town on the morning of July 29, 2014.

4. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Yaoyuan Detained

Ms. Qi Yaoyuan was arrested at home by officers from the Pingdu City 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the Chengguan Police Station on July 23, 2014. Her printer, a computer, a recorder, and truth-clarification materials were confiscated. She was later taken to the Qingdao No. 3 Detention Center in Pudong Town, Jimo City.

5. [Guangan City, Sichuan Province] Thirteen Practitioners Arrested

Thirteen practitioners including Mr. Bao Mingquan, Mr. Zhong Dongsheng, and Ms. Tang Liang were arrested by officers from the Linshui Domestic Security Division on July 25, 2014, when they were reading Falun Gong books together.

Three of them have been released, while the others are still being held at the Domestic Security Division.

6. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhu Ruifeng Detained

Mr. Zhu Ruifeng was arrested by officers from the Duanzhuang Police Station on the afternoon of July 26, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held at the Xuzhou City Detention Center.

7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Guan Dengyang and Ms. Yan Hong were arrested on March 29, 2014. They are being held at the Changsha County Detention Center.

8. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Qiuyun Arrested

Ms. Wang Qiuyun was arrested on March 23, 2014. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, a computer, and approximately 3,000 yuan.

9. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Xiling Sentenced

Ms. Yan Xiling was recently sentenced to a seven-year prison term and taken to Jinan Women's Prison.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Pei Shangyong Arrested

Mr. Pei Shangyong was arrested on the morning of July 30, 2014.

11. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Ms. Fu Guizhen Detained

Ms. Fu Guizhen was arrested by He Wanlong from the Longhua Town Police Station on the afternoon of March 24, 2014. She is being held at the Longhua County Detention Center.

12. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Tan Meili and Mr. Gao Jiaxi Arrested

Ms. Tan Meili and Mr. Gao Jiaxi were arrested by officers from the Penpu Police Station in Jiujiang City on the afternoon of July 17, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held at the Jiujiang City Detention Center. The police confiscated a computer and Falun Gong books from Mr. Gao's home.

13. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Shuzhi Detained

Ms. Jiang Shuzhi was arrested at home by officers from the Tumen City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on July 29, 2014. She is being held at the Dangxiao Brainwashing Center in Tumen City.

14. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Hu Zongzhi and Ms. Qiu Min Detained

Mr. Hu Zongzhi and Ms. Qiu Min were taken to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County, Hubei Province by officers from Yichang City on July 25, 2014.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yan Fuxiang Arrested

Ms. Yan Fuxiang was arrested and taken to the Zhonghualu Police Station on July 30, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

16. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Boxing County Police Department arrested Mr. Wang Wuyi and ransacked his home on June 28, 2014.

Mr. Wang Boqing was also arrested the same day, beaten by the police, and his home ransacked.

Both men were held at the Boxing County Detention Center until they were released on July 27, 2014, after the police extorted 20,000 yuan from their family.

Mr. Dai Wudong was arrested on June 19, 2014, and is still being held at the Huantai County Detention Center.

17. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Xue Wenjun Arrested

Ms. Xue Wenjun was arrested and taken to the Ninghai Brainwashing Center on July 28, 2014.

18. [Yanan City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Cao Huashan's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Cao Huashan was arrested at home by officers from the Yanan City Domestic Security Division, including captain Zhang Guoyao on the afternoon of July 25, 2014. They confiscated three computers, a color printer, the Minghui Weekly, and other personal items. Mr. Cao's whereabouts is unknown.
