(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Shuqin has been detained for more than three months since her illegal arrest in April 2014. She developed high blood pressure while in detention, but the Procuratorate denied her medical parole.
Ms. Wang Shuqin, in her 60s, is a resident of Tanggu District, Tianjin. When she came back home on the afternoon of April 16, 2014, several police officers stopped her at the entrance of her apartment building and pushed her to the ground. She lost consciousness on the spot. She was then taken to the Shangbei Police Station for interrogation.
One of the involved police officers told her that they were ordered to monitor her. She had been monitored for a few days. Two officials from the Tianjin 610 Office were also involved in her arrest. The police broke into her home and ransacked it. They confiscated two computers, two printers and her personal notebooks and memos.
Ms. Wang is being detained in the Haibinxinqu First Detention Center. She developed high blood pressure and is not in a good state. The officials of the detention center tried to collect money from her family for her treatment, but they did not allow them to see her. Her family hired a lawyer to help to rescue her.
The lawyer and her family members went to the detention center on the afternoon of April 26 and met with the director. They obtained a copy of her medical records, went to the procuratorate to submit those records, and an application for her medical parole to the procurator of her case.
The procuratorate later notified her family that Ms. Wang was not qualified to be released on medical parole. Ms. Wang's trial was scheduled for the afternoon of July 23. The details of the trial and its results are unknown.
Ms. Wang used to have many illnesses, such as heart disease, high blood pressure and asthma. She was bedridden and could not take care of herself. When she had asthma attacks, she was unable to eat, talk or move.
However, after she practiced Falun Gong, all of her illnesses disappeared and she fully recovered. She was able to take care of her family and her parents, and she became a happy person.
