August 13, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Jianzhen, a Falun Gong practitioner from Wendeng City, Weihai City, Shandong Province, has been detained for over a month. Her arrest warrant was issued by the Wendeng City Procuratorate around July 18, 2014.

Ms. Li Jianzhen was arrested by Wendeng police for delivering an open letter explaining the truth about Falun Gong on June 12, 2014. Village Secretary Liu Zhongjun and police went to her home. Li Benhai and other officers from the Domestic Security Division entered the property, with keys they had taken from Ms. Li. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a cell phone, a phone book, and 47 money notes with Falun Gong information written on them.

Ms. Li was taken to Wendeng City Detention Center. All family visits were denied, as well as delivery of clothing. Her family had no news about her until June 26. The village secretary Liu Zhongjun informed the family that Ms. Li had been transferred to the Wendeng City Detention Center.

In addition, a polio patient and Ms. Li's old neighbor had called her home on June 13. The phone was tapped, and police quickly arrived. The neighbor was frightened and had a heart attack, resulting in a one-week hospitalization.

Ms. Li's family received the news of the arrest warrant, then learned that the Procuratorate had returned her case to the police department.

Ms. Li's colleagues have voluntarily shared her work, and hope for her early return.
