(Minghui.org) Instead of being intimidated when Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials threatened them, Mr. Li Guangyi's family members criticized the authorities in no uncertain terms.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Guangyi was recently harassed by CCP officials in Songzhuang Village, Linbao Township, Li County, Hebei Province, and threatened with being fired if he didn't renounce his belief. His family members were also threatened by police, but they refused to be intimidated.
They shouted at the official, “You're the one who made a mistake, so you should write a statement of regret. What mistakes did he make? He is not corrupt, doesn't accept bribes, and doesn't kill or steal. Why do you want him to write a statement? He has devoted his life to society, and should get retirement wages. This has nothing to do with whether or not he practices Falun Gong.
“If you fire him, you are an unreasonable official working for an unreasonable government. If you want to kick him out of the CCP, he will be more than happy, because there are so many corrupt officials.
“You persecute Falun Gong practitioners, even though it is in violation of existing Chinese law. You don't obey any laws, and orally give commands without letting others record them.
“Your deeds today are criminal. You work so hard on the Party's behalf. Won't you be punished along with those corrupt officials?"
Song Xiaoping, a CCP official in Songzhuang Village, along with CCP vice secretary Fan of Linbao Township and Ren, the deputy mayor of Linbao, broke into Mr. Li Guangyi's home at 11:00 a.m. on May 23, 2014. They demanded that he sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong. Fan threatened that he had authorization from his superiors to have Mr. Li fired from his job if he didn't stop practicing Falun Gong by the end of the month.
Fan, a discipline inspection secretary, along with another official, went to Mr. Li's workplace and handed him a piece of paper written in ballpoint pen. They demanded that he denounce Falun Gong and sign the paper. Fan threatened and harassed Mr. Li.
Song Erdong, a village official in Songzhuang Village, threatened Mr. Li's son, demanding that he make his father write a statement denouncing Falun Gong at 6:00 p.m. on June 25. Li's son made a scene, causing problems with his father.
Song Erdong also contacted Mr. Li's daughter. He demanded that she make her father sign the statement giving up Falun Gong. Mr. Li's son-in-law shouted at Song, “Will this ever end? He is such an old man, why do you torture him like this every day?”
Song also threatened Mr. Li, “If you don't sign it, then wait for officers from the 610 Office and the rural government.”
The next day, Song Erdong went to the home of Mr. Li's daughter again and said, “Have your father sign the statement, then it will be ok.” That was when the family shouted at him.
